...CRAZY!

Well, if we're going to knock Devin for throwing two picks on an otherwise hyper-efficient performance, Shane just threw one, too.

Has Furman really struggled that much? There was maybe two plays where I thought Furman was not in great position, and there another two where I didn't think it was his fault at all. I actually think he is much improved.

still in the game? Get all the starters out now.

Bolden can't play every snap. They were playing 3 plays at a time early in the game.

Very solid open field tackle.

These young guys look like they have a ton of potential. Love what I've seen out of Gedeon today, Taco made a play there, Henry was on top of the QB on the last play.... so much young talent

Even on the INT...it's good to see him being used as more of a traditional player.

Obviously the number is a big part of it, but he even runs upright like Minor. He reminds me of Minor and A-Train...who were different backs, I just haven't see enough to tell which. Green is like a poor man's Ron Dayne at the time.

He's getting some decent snaps, let's just let him grow and not make him the starter because he makes a good decision.
August 31st, 2013 at 6:38 PM ^
At least Shane didn't force it into traffic there... yeah, he shouldn't have taken that sack. But you know, first game, true freshman, had mono most of his senior year. Given all that, I love what he's shown today. I think his upside is tremendous.
August 31st, 2013 at 6:43 PM ^
He's looked fine. The only reason anyone has said anything critical is because a crazy guy earlier in the thread was claiming that he should start over Devin.

qb controversy, which implies a question about who the starter should be.

Sure you did. Where were you going when you talked about "QB controversies" and brought up Chad Henne?
Let this be a lesson not to overreact to one garbage-time drive.

Hey guys, long time Blue fan but new to the board here. Thought I would give my thoughts on the game thus far.
-Offense has some things that need to get cleaned up before next week. We can get away with some of the poor plays against CMU but we won't be able to aginst the Irish.
-Defense looked pretty good. Tough to tell when we have so much more talent. I like how they've been flying to the ball though.
-The oline was probably the area with the most concern coming into the game but they have played very well. The new guys on the line look to be loaded with potential.
-Derrick Green has been pretty impressive. He is quicker than I expected but I still think if he lost 5-10 lbs he could gain a half step and really turn into a monster. Plenty of time for improvement but overall I've been impressed.
-Shane Morris has also looked better than I expected. I know he was highly ranked through recruiting but I also know he had some issues. He has looked pretty good. A little antsy on some plays but the tools are there.
Looking forward to a great year and seeing how our young guys continue to develop. The program is absolutely on the rise and seeing these young guys play well has been very impressive.

I'm hoping the M freshman team can close the game out without a CMU score.

Stribling is such a steal... as impressive as any of our true freshmen. Great instincts. Some guys are just natural players.

Didn't the ND game start at the same time ours did? I see that they're still in the 3rd quarter. The NBC difference.
