Stay and scout? The Kansas - NC game is in Missouri.
I guess the team will watch it together at the Crisler Center.

...haven't you heard. They're going to show the game on the jumbotron at the Palace!
Apologies, wasn't thinking.

Here are some of the estimated propbabilities for the games from Massey:
Ohio State is getting 80% as an estimated win probability against Iowa State. Indiana is estimated to have an 85% chance against Temple, and Illinois is only being given a 31% estimated win probability against Miami (YTM). Minnesota is also being given relatively long odds against Florida - 31% as well.
A couple other notable games that don't involve Big Ten teams - Florida Gulf Coast is rated as an underdog against San Diego State (28%), North Carolina is a decided underdog against Kansas (34%), and Duke is only slightly favored against Creighton (55%).
Also, fun fact - average margin of victory yesterday was 17.3 points.

My bracket died last night in the matter of an hour.
That said, I just care about Michigan advancing. However, I do think it would be cool if all B1G teams continued to win.

I would not want to play either team, I'd rather have OSU's road, but UNC has been down for a few years now, not playing up to their full potential, whereas Kansas is on a roll. I also think we match up better with UNC.
OSU got super lucky...but no worries, they'll have to deal with Louisville in the final four.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:08 PM ^
UNC was really good last year (#1 seed in the Midwest and #1 most of the year). At full strength, they would have given Kentucky a good game, they lost to them at Rupp by 1 point. Their season was killed when Ty Marshall broke his arm in their 2nd round (or 3rd round) game against Creighton. He really made that team go.
This year's team has struggled with losing 3 first round picks in Tyler Zeller, Marshall and Harrison Barnes. They'd present an better matchup because, while they do have size, they've moved to mostly playing a small lineup and wanting to play uptempo. I like our chances against any team that takes that approach.
I worry that Kansas will kill us on the board. They can have streaks of excruciatingly bad shooting, but their offensive board work could counteract that.

With Illinois and Minny, it's just about what team shows up.
If the Minnesota team that takes care of the ball and punishes teams on the offensive glass shows up -- ie, the team that showed up 3 out of 4 halves against Indiana and in their first round game -- they're even money with Florida. That team doesn't show up too often, though, Florida's good at forcing TOs and Minny's usually more than generous with them. So I don't give them much of a chance. If they can keep it close, though ... Florida hasn't won a close game all year (they have no win by fewer than 10 points, which is both impressive and concerning).
With Illinois, it's all about whether the Brandon Paul/DJ Richardson combo is having one of those games where everything they throw up goes in. That seems to happen about once every 3 or 4 games against good competition.
So I guess those win probabilities look pretty right on to me. I'd give Minnesota a little better chance just based on Florida's history this year.

I'm rooting hard for UNC. I want no part of Kansas's interior D (which allows them to stay on perimeter shooters) and the fact that their fans will probably take over Jerryworld (which isn't that far of a drive for them).

Why are you shouting already?
March 24th, 2013 at 12:17 PM ^
They really shouldn't have him do OSU games.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:28 PM ^
I don't really want Ohio to win today
March 24th, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
Chanting various insults when Ohio shoots FTs,one of em was a reference to football but can't make out the others.Anyone?
March 24th, 2013 at 12:35 PM ^
One weird thing yesterday at the Palace: MSU fans started the "Go Green . . . Go White" cheer while one of their own players was shooting FTs.

I think that Iowa state should just keep chucking up threes. They can't seem to finish around the rim.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:40 PM ^
By the look of Ohio if they do survive Iowa St., they won't survie Arizona. Teams that can't shoot have not faired well so far (Georgetown, Wisconsin, Kansas St., Pitt, N.Mexico, UNLV)
March 24th, 2013 at 12:49 PM ^
Don't judge Ohio too quickly. I'm expecting the Ohio that won the B1G tournament to show up soon. Still plenty of time in theis game for them to start shooting well again
March 24th, 2013 at 12:58 PM ^
I am sure people said that about the Hoyas as well. History has shown that winning a conference tournament isn't a predictor of tourney success. Also have to remember that against Arizona they will basically be playing a road game with the regional being in LA.
That's true, i was just trying to get the point across that Ohio has been playing very well the last month (no losses since @Wisconsin with wins @Indiana, twice against State, and once over Wisconsin)
They have been, but I just can't trust teams with a poor offence to go far in the tournament. At some point you are going to face a team that can score on you. And after what happened to Gonzaga, Saint Louis, New Mexico, and Georgetown, momentum doesn't seem to mean much this year.

Really impressed by the job Hoiberg has done at Iowa St. People thought taking on all those transfers wouldn't work.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:46 PM ^
Syracuse would be an awful matchup for OSU. Fortunately they're all the way on the other side of the bracket.
What I'm saying is teams should just go zone against them.
Syracuse is the #4 seed in the East, Indiana's region.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:49 PM ^
Watching the tournament after watching the Big 10 all year, it's amazing how much easier it is for players to get into the lane off the dribble.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:51 PM ^
Very true, you can see it with Michigan especially. Our offense seems to look like it did at the beggining of the year (which makes me extremely happy!)
March 24th, 2013 at 12:51 PM ^
I'm really debating rooting for MSU/OSU/IU these next few days, simply because, if we all keep winning, it'll be an all-B1G Final Four.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:53 PM ^
Just because you slightly pull for them to have an all Big 10 final four doesn't mean you can't mock their fans if they lose.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:54 PM ^
I am interested in what you have to say, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
If you're going to quote the classics please try to get them right.
Dammit. This is what happens when you do it from memory...or attempt to, anyway.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:53 PM ^
Iowa State needs to stop going to lane. It is not working at all for them
March 24th, 2013 at 12:55 PM ^
Right? That's what I just said, they either lose it or struggle to finish it.
March 24th, 2013 at 12:57 PM ^
I think I've seen like 5 straight turnovers or missed layups/dunks
March 24th, 2013 at 12:54 PM ^
It's nice to see that foul get called on Craft. That is how he played all season in the B16
We should be rooting hard for UNC and Minnesota. That would clear our path to the final 4. We would have to play an 8 seed and then either a 7/15/11 seed to get to Atlanta.
True, but it's pretty obvious that we match up much better with UNC than Kansas. Same thing with Florida and Minessota/FGCU/San Diego State.
That thing that Tracy Wolfson has; mole or piercing? If it was a mole, it was exceptionally shiny. If it was a piercing, it was in a pretty tough place to pierce.
Sorry, these are just the things I think about while watching sports.
Mole, caked in makeup which explains the shinyness
