Stanford is +1.5 pt underdog at UCLA. UCLA has already clinched their division while Stanford has not. If Stanford wins, these teams wil play a rematch a week later at Stanford. If UCLA wins, they will play at Oregon if Oregon beats Oregon State. I think UCLA may have some added motivation to tank the game if Oregon is winning in the early game. Not to mention Stanford is the better team in most computer rankings and has more motivation needing to win the game to get into the Pac-12 Championship.

The game is meaningless for one team and means everything to the other. And Stanford is still a dog? Weird.

Look at it this way: Ohio is an 11-0 team playing at home against an 8-3 team that will probably start its backup QB. I think Vegas is showing us a lot of respect here.
Now, I certainly think we can win, and Devin Gardner is much better than the average backup QB (I think he could have been All-Big Ten if he'd played all year) . . . but I would not have expected us to be favored here.

For the sportsbooks, I think the +4.5 line pretty much guarantees them a ton of bets on both sides of this matchup. I am almost more intrigued to see how this will move by Wednesday or Thursday as the Game approaches. From what I understand, they folks who set lines consider many more items aside from computer modeling, but the Sagarin ratings out today would predict the Buckeyes to be favored by 4.73 points (slightly less than 3 points if you use the "Predictor" numbers). It sounds pretty reasonable for Vegas and from the standpoint of the raw record (11-0 vs. 8-3) for both teams, I would think.

You beat me to it. Negged, though, for not including the lines for Rutgers and Maryland. Clearly you don't understand who our rivals are.
(Maryland, by the way, is +23 at UNC. Thanks, Jim Delany.)

I got Michigan at +5.5 on sportsbetting.com and took them. I usually prefer to bet against Michigan that way when we lose I don't feel quite as suicidal, but I couldn't refuse 5.5.

Ohio State looked rather pedestrian against Wisconsin, so, I do think there's hope. I'm surprised the line is this close, I thought it'd be OSU by more than that given they are 11-0 and the game is at the Toiletbowl Shoe.

Barkley confirmed out. Makes sense why ND-USC was off the board.
