OT: Evan Lisle to OSU
Decent pickup for the Bucks. But I like 4 out of the 5 Michigan linemen commits better.

Not really. I was just watching this video from their state championship game. McCray is #9 and plays both LB and TE:
He seems a bit stiff. I like his instincts and he's always around the ball, but he just doesn't seem athletic. Of the linebackers we've offered, I've been more impressed with Hutchings, Levenberry, and Anzalone. This is with me looking for a guy who can fill the SAM role, both covering the run/rushing the passer and in coverage.

Since he's supposedly 6'4 and 230 already, maybe they view him as another Frank Clark and someone that will play with his hand down. Levenberry, Gedeon and O'Daniel all look more athletic and active from the video available.

Word is Urban thinks McCray is too slow and likes Love better.

Urban hasn't offered McCray because he has never been arrested. Some coaches go by stars, Urban goes by arrests.

McCray is arguably the top LB in Ohio this year, but no offer from Ohio/recruiting "god" urb.
Urb must be prioritizing other backers, just seems odd that a top in-state talent, and a legacy, of a prior team captain mind you, doesn't get offered.
I'll gladly take McCray, I trust Mattison more than Urb

We didn't want him so he must be awful /buckeyemindsetoff

If I had to guess, is our offensive lineman that you like him better than Fox?
February 28th, 2012 at 8:22 PM ^
I actually like Fox a great deal, ideal Right Tackle kid. Dawson is the guy, but I like Dawson. I just want to see him on the circuit this summer. That year in texas helped him, and I think he'll get even better.
February 28th, 2012 at 8:44 PM ^
I was torn between Dawson and Fox but I thought with Dawson holding an Alabama offer that you would have preferred him based on Saban's desire for him. Wasn't sure but just curious.

Fox is probably our best lineman right now.

From the offer list and other info out there it kind of seemed that Bosch was the best, just not a pure T prospect.
February 28th, 2012 at 8:39 PM ^
maybe the best of the 5

they land 4* players one at a time. What dummies!!!
February 28th, 2012 at 8:18 PM ^
like JB "false start" Shugarts.

Like Mike Adams but stronger?
February 28th, 2012 at 8:27 PM ^
but better alcohol tolerance.

Yeah, since he's only the best O-lineman in the state and all. I love the fact that people think Urban won't end up getting a top 5 class this year and every year. He will get anyone in the state of Ohio that he WANTS.

He reaches a lot in his film. Happy with our boys

Given Alabama's start, knowing Saban's ability to close, and understanding the geographic advantage the south provides, it wouldn't surprise me if he outpaced both Michigan and Ohio. However, if the pedigree of recruits both schools keep landing keeps up, it will be an interesting competition.
February 28th, 2012 at 9:26 PM ^
It may just end up coming down to class size, and who can take the most players. And I think Alabama will win that race. I also want to see if this staff can close as well as they can start a recruiting class. Last year they definitely faltered towards the end, probably a one time thing, but you never know.
February 29th, 2012 at 3:02 PM ^
I don't think faltered is an appropriate word to use in describing that last month of 2012 UM football recruiting. They didn't get a few guys that were really never theirs to get anyway. They "whiffed" on guys who were committed to other schools previously and had changes of heart late in the game. Let's not forget that Hoke and Co. had a mostly-full class very early in the cycle. Let's also not forget the quality of that class, let alone the quantity.
February 28th, 2012 at 10:05 PM ^
I don't think ohio and Michigan can have the top 2 classes this year just from a numbers stand point. Michigan will have what 21-22 scholarships and ohio has the ncaa sanctions. I think if we signed our dream class in 2013 it would be the number 3-4 class behind Bama and Texas/ FSU/ Florida (Take your pick).

Peace be upon thee, young fella. May your future be filled with fucked up looking Nike Pro Combat uniforms and nominal payments from mouth-breathing boosters.
February 28th, 2012 at 8:59 PM ^
I'm really excited for this young talent that witnessed rich rod and all the free crap at tsio, and still without a doubt wanted to be Michigan Men. Regardless of the stars, these are the players that will put us at a level or glory no school has ever seen. Go Blue!
February 28th, 2012 at 9:14 PM ^
Well RDT, not normally a fan of flattery but your OP hit the right chord when you dogged on OSU.
February 28th, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
From the guy who had Brandon Spikes as his MLB, that's pretty funny.
February 28th, 2012 at 11:32 PM ^
Even if tsiO pulled in a class of nothing but 5*, I still think Hoke and his staff could outcoach the competition and win the Big Ten Championship multipley!!!!
February 29th, 2012 at 12:11 AM ^
choice of lineman. Im sure the coaching staff is happy with our OL haul as well. That being said, everyone now gets to choose from the leftovers. There is still quality lineman, just saying.
February 29th, 2012 at 12:09 PM ^
Everyone knows that since Ohio has 25 scholarships to offer this year Urban Meyer will only offer the top 25 players in the country and get them all. Since Evan Lisle is only a four star there is no way Urban would bother recruiting him.
