February 17th, 2012 at 7:27 PM ^
correct answer is Absopure, the official bottled H2o of UM.
I purchase 11,200+ bootles yearly and make people in Ohio drink it.
February 17th, 2012 at 7:30 PM ^
You know those bottles can be turned into batteries? cool shit. plz recycle.
February 17th, 2012 at 7:28 PM ^
goin to watch a friend's band play a show in Milwaukee, so probably some excellent microbrews from Lakefront Brewery or Milwaukee Brewing Co.
February 17th, 2012 at 7:35 PM ^
swan flu, im free gb and have tried Lakefront brews plenty of times. Very good choice. Have you ever tried their brewery tour? Pretty fun time
February 17th, 2012 at 9:43 PM ^
their brewery tour is one of the best times you can have anywhere. especially if you go on a friday and get the fish fry.
I won the bunghole last time I went.

Thinking about trying bud light platinum. Friends say its pretty good, so ill test it out tonight.
February 17th, 2012 at 7:39 PM ^
I don't know what you usually drink, but I thought it was pretty damn sugary for a Budweiser. You can also taste more of the alcohol than you can in a lower-price-range beer, but that was the part I liked. I had them on special for $2 and would do it again at that price.
February 17th, 2012 at 7:46 PM ^
Makes sense being plantium is 6% alcy, while the usually "light" beer is around 4.2%. I hate to say it because im from wisconsin, but I prefer budweiser to miller. No idea why, but Miller products give me the biggest hangovers.
February 17th, 2012 at 7:49 PM ^
I agree; If I'm going cheap I usually drink Bud Heavy.
February 17th, 2012 at 7:39 PM ^
The same thing the past few weeks: small batch bourbon and coke. Very tasty/

I am the only one who thinks that North Peak beers kinda suck?
EDIT: Dammit, tried to reply to j24sailr
February 17th, 2012 at 7:59 PM ^
I don't think they are bad. I also don't think they are good.

February 17th, 2012 at 10:33 PM ^
I'm jealous. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some next weekend when I'm in for the Winter Beer Festival
February 17th, 2012 at 10:56 PM ^

I found Alex Kozan's letter of intent, it was in Jimmy Hoffa's briefcase.
February 17th, 2012 at 8:05 PM ^
like Kozan's LOI will ever be found.
February 17th, 2012 at 8:10 PM ^
Alex Kozan is actually the Lindbergh Baby.
February 17th, 2012 at 8:13 PM ^
I heard he was the son of DB Cooper.
February 17th, 2012 at 8:44 PM ^
I keep feeling like I missed his decision but can never find any news. Does he have a new announcement date or is he just off the grid?

Some Blue...after all it is Hockey Weekend
February 17th, 2012 at 8:23 PM ^
How is a hockey team's placement in a particular regional established? I want to know what the chances of Michigan going to the Green Bay regional (since I live in Wisconsin and it would be the only way I could see M hockey this season in person).
February 17th, 2012 at 8:31 PM ^
Just a suggestion, either go to the other thread and ask CenterIce, or wait until you see m_fan_in_ohio and ask him. Brian mentions a two seed on the front page, but nothing else.
February 17th, 2012 at 8:45 PM ^
There is an article called bracketology each week that describes the seeding process in detail.
February 17th, 2012 at 8:45 PM ^
Bell's Winter White for me.
February 17th, 2012 at 8:46 PM ^
Any suggestions? All I really know is to throw in some baileys and whiskey.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:15 PM ^
Atwater Brewery Vanilla Java Porter! Delicious.
February 17th, 2012 at 10:57 PM ^
If she wants coffee, go with coffee and Frangelico. If she wants beer, go with a Short's Cup of Joe Stout (if you're in Michigan). Either way, you can't go wrong.
February 17th, 2012 at 9:14 PM ^
Built my own sixer with a couple of Hopslams, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, Blue Moon Spring Blonde, Michelob Amber Bock, and Dragon's Milk. I just tried Hopslam for the first time and wow! That's all I can say. Thank you guys for putting me up on this.

Couple Lagunitas IPAs that somehow survived the week since the last drinkin' thread. Laying low tonight, but tomorrow I'm gonna run out to the beer store and find some new beer to drink. Suggestions welcome (I'm into IPAs these days).
February 17th, 2012 at 9:55 PM ^
what state do you live in? I was REALLY into IPAs a few years ago, even did a blind taste test of about 20 IPAs
My #1 rated IPA was Stone Ruination IPA
#2 (and more cost effective) was Great Lakes Brewery Flaming River IPA. really good
either of those will put you in hop heaven.
If you're looking for an IPA that you've NEVER experienced before, try to find Lakefront Brewery Black IPA. It is an IPA if it had been raised by a sith lord. it is dank as hell. really good stuff.
February 17th, 2012 at 10:11 PM ^
I'm in Northern Virginia - there are a few really good beer stores around so it's pretty easy to find anything with decent distribution. I actually had the Ruination not too long ago, but I drank it right after I finished a pint of an incredible double IPA from Firestone Walker, so I don't think it got a fair shake from my taste buds. I'll have to try it again.
FWIW, my top three IPAs are Two Hearted, Dogfish 60 Minute, and this Lagunitas. Any of those I could drink until I was pear-shaped.
February 17th, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
Two hearted was my #3 IPA when I did my taste test. definately top notch beer. I must admit that we diverge on dogfish head and Lagunitas, but hey, to each his own. Happy drinking.
February 17th, 2012 at 10:44 PM ^
For sure get the Ruination again. Was it the Double Jack or Union Jack from Firestone? Both are very good! Do you guys get Green Flash in VA? The Green Flash West Coast IPA is tops if you can- im not sure if they distribute there or not same for Bear Republic Racer 5.
Another one to try if you can get it is Jai Alai from Cigar City down in Tampa, FL. I think they do a lot on the east coast.
