Anthony Standifer?
I know him and Michigan split ways a few months back, but I don't remember ever hearing the reason why. I was just looking at his profile on ESPN and he didn't commit to any school. He shows offers from some pretty big schools too, so just wondering if anyone has any idea what is going on?
February 4th, 2012 at 1:20 PM ^
He's converted to WR - waiting on Stefon Diggs.
February 4th, 2012 at 1:30 PM ^
Do we still take Diggs if Clowney commits before him?
February 4th, 2012 at 4:16 PM ^
Yea, but only if Daquon Bowers decommits
February 4th, 2012 at 1:20 PM ^
his grades werent up to par
February 4th, 2012 at 1:20 PM ^
I think someone mentioned it's about his grades, but then his parents came out and said his grades were not the problem.
February 4th, 2012 at 1:21 PM ^
It wasn't grades. He was missing one of the core classes or something.
February 4th, 2012 at 1:24 PM ^
I didn't say it's his grades, plus read my whole post before comment
February 4th, 2012 at 1:58 PM ^
He didn't say you said it's his grades, plus read his whole post before comment.
February 4th, 2012 at 2:18 PM ^
then why is he replying my post in the first place?
February 4th, 2012 at 2:58 PM ^
Then why am I replying to your post replying to his post that replied to your post in the first place?
February 4th, 2012 at 3:41 PM ^
I think someone mentioned it's about his grades, but then his parents came out and said his grades were not the problem. You said "I think" so I was just confirming what you thought by saying, "it wasn't grades." I've made a mental note not to reply to your comments because you seem like a really sensitive guy and I don't want to upset you for no reason.
February 4th, 2012 at 4:09 PM ^
Good idea
February 4th, 2012 at 3:01 PM ^
That sounds very fishy. Especially when there was still a semester left of a high school to enroll in this core class when the decommit happened not to mention a whole summer to take a correspondence course before Fall at UM.
February 4th, 2012 at 1:20 PM ^
It appears that ND has pulled their offer as well. The report was that he was missing a class needed to clear admissions

February 4th, 2012 at 1:25 PM ^
Anthony, is that you?
February 4th, 2012 at 1:28 PM ^
I read same thing he's missing foreign language class. He was my favorite commit until we parted ways. Wish kid luck wherever he goes unless it's Ohio
February 4th, 2012 at 1:49 PM ^
FOREIGN LANGUAGES?! You don't need FOREIGN LANGUAGES TO PLAY FOOTBAW IN THE ESSS EEE SEEE!

I see you still haven't given up on trying to be funny.
February 4th, 2012 at 4:04 PM ^
Key word for him is definitely "trying"
February 4th, 2012 at 1:28 PM ^
Someone likes downvoting.
February 4th, 2012 at 1:36 PM ^
I feel like this is happening in a lot of threads. Someone is just going through and downvoting everything they see and other people are having to upvote it.

They have a lot time to spare

Seems like the quality of MGOBLOGGERs is going down. People are being less informative and more douche(y)
February 4th, 2012 at 3:04 PM ^
People love snappy sarcasm and contrived, whimsical humor here more than they like legit information-seeking or passionate opinion.
It's a board of guys who seem like they really want to co-write a film with Wes Anderson.

Welcome to the off season. 39 days until spring practice.
February 4th, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
Spring practice is still the offseason, pal.

Yes, this is the consequence of no neg-banging. Give it while and it will get worse. The snark level has gone off the scale and is mostly mis-directed. It used to be you could read 5-10 reply to a topic before it degenerated. Now it seems like the 1st reply out of the gate is almost always antagonistic and sends things south quickly. The current bad point system only rewards volume and not quality.

If you know him. Ask him what he is doing.
Inside the computer..... It's so simple.

I don't see the upside of banking more than 1 scholarship. I think in addition to Kozan (thinking in a positive manner) we still go after one of the uncommitted 3*'s.
February 4th, 2012 at 1:44 PM ^
Kozano announced? Any news?
February 4th, 2012 at 1:50 PM ^
I agree with your thinking. I suspect if we whiff on Kozan, may a merciful deity forbid, we will probably offer Gibbs. I assume that's the reason he hasn't committed. With any luck, though, we'll get Kozan and Gibbs will walk on.
February 4th, 2012 at 4:50 PM ^
If for no other reason than not having to offer Gibbs, I really hope Kozan commits.
February 4th, 2012 at 5:27 PM ^
I as well. especially since, if I understand this correctly, there's a good chance Gibbs may walk on if he isn't offered. His family, I'm told, has donated enromous amounts of money to UofM over the years, so he can afford the education, and UofM is THE school for him. I don't know what he'll do in the end, but maybe the offer itself is important to him, but I assume he's only holding off on a decision while he waits for Kozan's spirit quest to end.

At 6'1" his height and athleticism was really impressive to me, i thought he was at least a 4 star player really and was underrated. Wish it would've worked out. Plus, I always thought he could be a true CB and not convert to Safety.
February 4th, 2012 at 3:01 PM ^
If he hasn't satisfied the core curriculum required for NCAA eligibility to us or Notre Dame, how can he be available to Pitt? I assume this Spanish class is necessary to meet NCAA minimums, no (or no, for my Spanish speaking friends)?
February 4th, 2012 at 3:41 PM ^
Si senor. Espanol es muy importanto.
Which reminds me of joke I once heard the great comedian Paul Rodriguez tell (try to imagine it in a thick hispanic accent)....
I was on an elevator in LA the other day and these two Japanese tourists get on and start jabbering away in Japanese. I listened for a while and got madder and madder and finally I had enough and had to say something.
"HEY" i yelled at them. "This is AMERICA. Speak Spanish!"
February 4th, 2012 at 6:21 PM ^

Btw, I told the joke to my Venezuelan wife and she laughed so hard she spit her drink! One thing I've learned is that S.A. Latinos are alot less politically correct than Americans. Refreshing.

That's because Brian & Co. refuse to do any meaningful oversight and policing of the site.
February 4th, 2012 at 4:44 PM ^
I'd say they do a fine job policing the site. They seem to be pretty on top of getting rid of obvious trolls. But as a site becomes more popular the population of people who think they have something meaningful to contribute but actually don't definitely rises. Should they be banned or disallowed to post?
Unfortunately when points actually mattered, people seemed to get obsessed with them and there was far too much discussion about points. Not sure what the solution is, but I don't think it should be heavy policing of the site by mods either.

Come on now neg bombs were great fun! We the people could neg trolls to Bolivia or send J Hackney to the moon with love positivity.
