A blowout win that leaves me underwhelmed. An odd, yet familiar feeling. But I will forget all about it by Monday and just remember the win. Especially when Brian explains to us that it wasn't as bad as it seemed. Although, I feel he may change his opinion on red zone struggles not being a concern
Hoping we can stop the “well, they are going to try and press the LOS and stop the run, so we will continue to run right in to it and really show them” bullshit
Great win for the Ducks! As a Ducks season ticket holder and spouse of an Oregon alum (and current employee), that was a great win. Especially with top UO players being out. As a Michigan fan in Eugene, maybe this will stop some people from wanting to tell me about that time Oregon beat Michigan.
Bad block by Turner, but am I the only one thinking that Shea had an opportunity to step up in the pocket? Perhaps his other mistakes are causing me to think it is on him more than it should. I just see him making a # of bad decisions.
I'm coming up on 2 years here in Eugene after the previous 7 in Portland. Ducks football season tickets for the past 10 years and always fly my Michigan flag at our tailgate. Agree, being out here makes it easy from a rivalry standpoint. My former boss in Portland is a MSU alum and a couple friends in Eugene also went there. They're chirping a bit more given the way bball shook out in the Big Ten.
Awesome to witness! Special moment at Hayward Field and the crowd roaring as he came down the stretch. Living in Eugene, it's fun to see some other Michigan fans and the athletes, shout "Go Blue" and get the appropriate response. Will be cheering on the women on Saturday!
the Michigan-Oregon State connection. Perhaps a thread a day to discuss Beaver football. If we include Hoke's stint at Oregon State it might need to go on the front page.
Helps establish some continuity. Leavitt is a very good coach and did a superb job as Oregon's DC and will be a good HC hire for another program, but the Oregon brand and identity is built on offense.
court is much better in person. Although I was at the game tonight and it looked horrible with the Boise State dog pile at half court after the buzzer beater
but I don't think think it is on the refs. They didn't drop an easy interception, lose contain and let Barrett walk in from 21 yards, over throw receivers, or take unnecessary sacks. stop beating ourselves and then worry about beating the refs.
big games and I see so many comments about fumbles not going our way, opposing qb has game of his life, opposing coordinator calls perfect game plan. maybe it is not luck.
you may need to calibrate your guage of percentages. A decent Ohio State presence, yes. The fan and stadium experience was not the reason Michigan lost.
Fred Jackson coaches practice each week, and from the pressers, I know that we kick ass during practice, ergo Fred is the best coach on the planet. That's right, we talkin bout practice.
To me there is a vast difference between hiring someone with ties to MSU or tOSU vs someone currently on staff there. The former is plausible. Bo was not at tOSU when he took the Michigan job.
It seems Mattison gets credit for the solid defense and gets a pass for the big plays given up. There was no reason to blitz in that situation. Also, the blitzes are rarely disguised. Most QBs, unless it is their 1st time playing, can see the blitzes coming an make an adjustment. In the case of the screen that busted for 70 yards, no point in sending an all out blitz, especially when it is 3rd and long IIRC.
I recall a few other instances where we showed blitz, the offense recognized it, made checks, and we still blitzed, giving up an easy completion on 3rd down. That being said, the defense is not the problem, or actually a problem. Perhaps some of Mattison's jawing with Hoke is because he knows that they need to pitch a shutout or give up zero TDs to stay in games.
I liked seeing the fire from Mattison. Would have liked seeing more from Hoke.
Saw him going through progressions and stepping up in the pocket to make a throw that was not a short armed shot put looking motion. His int, in my mind, was him trying to make something happen and move the ball. (and and wet ball since it was getting rained on for 30 seconds before it was snapped)
Hope that the game is called so the final score is not worse. I was fooled by iron pyrite by 2 coaching staffs. RR and Hoke. hope each week that the team can put it together but am not surprised when they don't. kids don't look like they enjoy playing the games.

Whelp. Need a stop on defense. Again

Offense has to help the defense at some point.
Love having a lead. Don’t love the mistakes either before or after something amazing
Go Blue!!! I’m ready and confident the players and coaches are too.
Bet
Bet!
Yep. My wife is fighting it now.

Halftime adjustments! Make it a two score game to start the second half.
would love to see some chunk plays down the field.
Nope
Uh oh. First and goal. Perhaps we break tendencies?

Yes. The moral high ground is their safe space.

FANTASTIC! Go Blue! Was lucky enough to watch them in person in the Corvallis regional. Fun team to watch. Nerve racking at times, but fun.

Terps playing dirty. Hope more Michigan players get hurt.

It's a bonus that the players wanted him named as the head coach #cristoBALLIN, but don't believe that was the main reason for the hire.

You can't be serious or my sarcasm detector is way off.
constantly blaming refs is weak imho.

Have to have guys make plays when the big moment happens.
Washington was 0-12 and was still a rivalry
bunch a really good players but don't seem to make the big play in key situations. guys in position but can't close out. got lucky on that replay.
Seabreeze High School- Fighting Sandcrabs, Daytona Beach, FL
that makes up for the unfavorable spot against Ohio State, right?
how do you not run hammering panda or at least his stand-in?
maybe our o-line can try holding.
of Indiana
Can't believe that I have not seen that suggestion before. mind = blown.
Naming rights for MGoBlog!
Would you be OK if a Michigan team attended an event to support their school/team? Was most likely vetted through the compliance department as well.

Not sure if that is allowed. And I completely agree with your statement.
Gardner shows a lack of ability to go through progressions which impacts his ability to get rid of the ball. He is still our best option.
too bad it looks like the trash tornado is our team at the moment.
Which is an upgrade from my usual stance on uni changes.

Cause I am still in Portland on a conference call...
Enjoy the game. Go Blue.
