Another signing day suprise may be on the way
February 1st, 2012 at 9:38 AM ^
Maybe Croom?
Maybe Robert Gregory?
February 1st, 2012 at 9:37 AM ^
Would another person signing today mean no room for Jordan Diamond?
February 1st, 2012 at 9:39 AM ^
No, we can go to 28 if we want (three early enrollees).
February 1st, 2012 at 9:40 AM ^
Last I heard we had 4 spots open. With Norfleet and Henry that leaves 2 spots open. That would mean we could get this "suprise" and still have 1 spot open for Diamond.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:41 AM ^
We're at 25.
We can take 2 more guys and STILL take Jordan Diamond. It's been that bad of a week.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:42 AM ^
You stated that there would be NO surprise anyway, saying that Sam was doing it for attention so what does it matter?
February 1st, 2012 at 9:48 AM ^
I didn't say there would be no surprise. I said they were going to create some hype regardless of whether there was someone or not.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:42 AM ^
Maybe it is Jordan Diamond. Perhaps he changed his mind to announce his decision today instead of later.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:38 AM ^
Postponed his decision till Friday is it him?
February 1st, 2012 at 9:42 AM ^
Well then it wouldn't be a Signing Day surprise, now would it?
February 1st, 2012 at 9:40 AM ^
Personally, I think it could be Kozan. Apparently he hasn't publicly decided yet.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:59 AM ^
....you're right. Denard without Molk was scary. Kazan has yet to really speak up
February 4th, 2012 at 2:22 PM ^
I believe I was the first one to call this..
February 1st, 2012 at 9:40 AM ^
I'm calling Gunner Kiel, just because he seems to be making a thing of flipping schools.
That, or Barry Sanders Jr. because that would be awesome.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:42 AM ^
All your professional athlete sons are belong to us!
February 1st, 2012 at 9:45 AM ^
Kiel is already in enrolled in Notre Dame. Doubt it's him. Although he has pulled some surprises.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:46 AM ^
If Barry Sanders Jr. signed with Michigan it would combine my two favorite things in football...sort of.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:42 AM ^
Given our needs, what position would we like to see filled most?
TE
Center
WR
DB
DT
What's your preference?
February 1st, 2012 at 9:49 AM ^
I would love to see a play making tight end or two wearing the winged helmet.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:08 AM ^
Did you see our cornerbacks play in the sugar bowl? Ya we can use some depth there.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:09 AM ^
we need a new New Math plz
February 1st, 2012 at 10:26 AM ^
For me, it goes [1] TE, [2] C, and then [3] QB, unless there's a wide receiver out there who could step into the lineup in his first year.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:46 AM ^
It seems strange that Diamond would wait til Friday to sign. Did he give a reason?
February 1st, 2012 at 9:50 AM ^
The high school is doing a Friday shindig with all of their guys.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:51 AM ^
You technically have until April 1st to sign...Signing Day is just something fans and ESPN created, but there are plenty of guys that won't sign today.
Some will wait to finish basketball season and take visits. Others will wait to see how Signing Day pans out and then try to get "picked up" by teams that may have missed out on a bigger prospect. Some people want the attention of having their own day.
In Diamonds case, his school has set a press conference for ALL of the signees for Friday. So he's doing it with his classmates in all sports that sign during this period.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:59 AM ^
Daimond's school is doing this for ceremonial reasons, but you can bet that all the kids at that school have already made their commitments known behind the scenes to their future coaches, so as not to get shut out.
Wherever Diamond is going, that school already knows it. BTW, I think it is Michigan.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:52 AM ^
I'm pretty sure he's had that as his date for a while now. So you shouldn't glean anything from it about where he is going to commit. It could mean a couple things, I think he just wants to announce at a time that isn't the main NSD rush, and get lost in the crazy amount of news going on. The other possibility is he's waiting to see how the classes fill out. this might be likely too, as he doesn't seem terribly gung ho about the idea of commitiing to a class with a bunch of OTs (or at least his mom doesn't).
February 1st, 2012 at 9:51 AM ^
Our biggest need, and Magnus would probably agree, right now, would be CENTER, based on the assumption that Bars or Kalis aren't expected to play it.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:58 AM ^
Because I've been wondering for days. Per WKTA this morning: His high school class is declaring together.
EDIT: This was to be an answer to Toomer18 above. And I'm typing too slowly. Serves me right for getting up early enough to listen live before coffee.
February 1st, 2012 at 9:57 AM ^
i would guess its a ol wr or db. maybe that db guy from ohio
February 1st, 2012 at 10:01 AM ^
That DB guy from Ohio is Urban Meyer.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:05 AM ^
I see what you did there...funny
February 1st, 2012 at 10:01 AM ^
Not sure if it applies to Michigan, but Allen Trieu just retweeted someone sayign a HUGE decommitment coming.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:03 AM ^

February 1st, 2012 at 10:11 AM ^
Dang, FSU is cleaning up this year...
From ESPN.com
Florida State once again flexed its recruiting muscle on Wednesday reaching up the East Coast for Five-star Under Armour All-American defensive tackle Eddie Goldman (Washington, D.C./Collegiate). The 6-foot-4, 310-pound talent made his announcement live on ESPN at 10:05 AM ET. He picked the Seminoles over Alabama, Auburn and Miami-FL.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:20 AM ^
If I'm Florida, I'm seeing the walls close in a little bit . . . coaching unstability, poor seasons, recruiting not what it was.
Things move fast. Just a couple of years ago I remember a multi-page article in SI about how FL was invincible in recruting, coming off a National Championship season with the #1 class in the country.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:28 AM ^
Dante Fowler. It's all cyclical.
February 1st, 2012 at 2:36 PM ^
Coaching unstability?
February 1st, 2012 at 10:18 AM ^
EDIT: Nevermind, his letter is in.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:15 AM ^
Sam Webb just retweeted something from Hawkeye Insider that says that Kozan is still considering Iowa, Michigan and Auburn despite announcing for the Hawkeyes the other day.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:17 AM ^
February 1st, 2012 at 10:15 AM ^
twitter says he hasn't sent in a loi yet and may still be considering us
February 1st, 2012 at 10:17 AM ^
This would be a huge get, that fills a glaring hole in this class
