Defensive Annihilation Muppets
These are admittedly tenuous but Michigan did just convincingly win a road game against a team with a winning record to ensure themselves a better season than they had last year, so…
And you can't have one without the other…
How about JT Floyd? He just destroyed AJ Jenkins. I have no idea how this happened. Gibson minus all of the points.

It didn't always look pretty but winning makes pretty over rated.

it's photoshopped. but you can still go there if you want.
November 12th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
with some Muppets. Fantastic defensive effort - top to bottom. Solid play by LB's, incredible effort up front, save for a couple lost contains by DE's, and backfield was SICK.
GO BLUE! Can't wait for next Saturday!

WOOO!!!!
Go Blue, Beat Nebraska
Our defense is good? Who knew that was allowed. I might have a drink or two to process that

What a small world, my wife grew up with Allison. We saw her in Chicago recently at a fundraiser and were happy to see her doing so well.
Fight the good fight.

A great defense in a dominating game! We played in their backfield all game long. It was a good win on the road.
Go Blue!

Defensive muppets are the most rewarding muppets.

Based on the past few years, it would be a close battle with special teams muppets in the title game
November 12th, 2011 at 8:05 PM ^
I love me some Defense!J.T. looked good today.

and it's great to see the offense can still move, albeit cautiously, with Devin at the helm. I'm sure Denard will be fine with the hand thing, but you never know. Devin did well.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
I think Gardner needed to get in there a bit in a non-certain situation, move the ball and score. I think this will turn out to be an important confidence builder for him. His step up in the pocket and throw on the touchdown were well executed.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
I don't know if Shafer ever got Rodriguez to ever privately admit it on his way out, but I'll say it; Tony Gibson is the worst position coach in the country. JT actually read the QB and jumped a play tonight? What is this, Opposite Day?!
wooooo? wooooo!!!!
November 13th, 2011 at 11:11 AM ^
It is mindblowing isn't it? Not only did JT make a solid pick at an important moment, but he was in Jenkins shirt the whole damn game. Last year he had problems staying in the same zip code with recievers. Now he is shutting down quality No. 1 wideouts. Mattison, Mallory and the other defensive coaches deserve statues in their honor. Gibson, not so much.
November 13th, 2011 at 10:07 PM ^
Great win, and GREAT play by JT Floyd the whole game...but he didn't exactly shut him down, Jenkins still had 103 yards and 8 catches, the whole secodary has gotten a lot better with not allowing The Big Play and still breaking up plays too
November 12th, 2011 at 8:20 PM ^
8-2 with two big name but VERY beatable teams coming to our house
Going to be an exciting end of November
Celebration is in order
November 12th, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
He's jumped a routes a few times this year, but never quite pulled off the pick. Since the consensus is that he doesn't have the speed to match most elite WR's, the route jumping is the result of coaching & / or film study.
And that's a good thing. Of course it helps that Scheelhasse was throwing to the same WR most of the time. That kind of stuff invites INT's.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
getting better all the time and that now they needed to make the jump to winning a game for the team. I think that the defense won this game. Great job guys.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^
And rather than looking lost or late (like in September; ND), they KNEW what they were doing, and confused the Illni. They're learning. And that's a big change.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:34 PM ^
A michigan team where the offense is dominated by a Boss of a running back, and a defense that is stout, stops people and gets turnovers...Is This Michigan?? Yes! Yes sir, THIS is Michigan.
Good job today Wolverines!! A special Thank You to Fitzgerald Toussaint and JT Floyd (even before the interception)!! And further proof to me that the Devin Gardner era may not be all roses, But will be filled with success
November 13th, 2011 at 12:56 PM ^
I thought denard looked pretty good through the air until that hit to the hand/head
November 12th, 2011 at 8:34 PM ^
I'm starting to feel the muppets out there.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:36 PM ^
This was the stat run by ESPN that shocked me:
Michigan allowed 14 points or less for the 6th time in 2011; it happened once in 2010.
November 13th, 2011 at 12:14 AM ^
Michigan allowed 14 points or less exactly six times over the previous three seasons.
November 12th, 2011 at 8:40 PM ^
I dunno man. These muppets are more than tenuous. I hate it that beating the Frauding Illini in something less crazy than what went down last year is supposedly muppet-worthy.
November 12th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
When your defense was a tire fire, ranked like 110 overall (or whatever the hell it was), and gave up 65 points to this very same team last year...and turns that around by giving them 47 YARDS in the first half and maintains control despite offense derp-ing in the 2nd/3rd quarters? I'd say that's muppet-worthy.
Illinois had ZERO big plays. Correction...ONE big play, which was a miraculous 4th-and-26 conversion (I'll give the D a pass on that one...). And their second TD drive ate up 7 minutes of time when they needed way more than that.
May be tenuous muppets...but they are definitely deserved.
November 13th, 2011 at 5:37 AM ^
Illinois gained only 30 net yards in the first half. You're makin us look bad by inflating their numbers.
November 13th, 2011 at 9:50 AM ^
Illinois 2010, first half against Michigan: 31 points
Illinois 2011, first half against Michigan: 30 yards
