4* OL Bisnowaty commits to Pitt
I realize we have not been pursuing him heavily as of late, but 4* OL Adam Bisnowaty just committed to Pitt.

Paging Mr. Jones.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:47 PM ^
That would have been funny in 2003. Actually.. No it would still be lame.
September 29th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
But everything to do with last night, would you still miss the point?
September 29th, 2011 at 1:58 PM ^
but glad to not have to face him anytime soon then with him not going B1G.
Hope to hear from Banner/Garnett. (or maybe Diamond) soon.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
not sure how realistic an option he is at this point.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:03 PM ^
on him. I think Banner and Garnett are better though, so it's not too big of a loss.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:16 PM ^
I think we'll get Banner, and be done on the OL.
September 29th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
As long as they don't change the meaning of "Touch the Banner"...could make for awkward team entrances at the Big House.
September 29th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
The wording "the coaches cooled on him" is not to say the coaches didn't want him and that's why he's going elsewhere. I'm guessing the "coaches cooled on him" because they felt they had a much better shot elsewhere and saw the chance of getting Diamond slipping away.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:26 PM ^
but stranger things have happened. There's still something to me that feels safer about having a chicago kid than a cali kid (not transferring/weather or what not)
September 29th, 2011 at 3:06 PM ^
Remember though Michigan has this weird pull with kids from Cali, the only transfer off the top of my head would be Justin Fargas.
September 29th, 2011 at 3:24 PM ^
how bout a duo of forcier brothers???
September 29th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
Johnny Sears agrees, though he also let someone score on him while nodding his head.
(I know he got kicked off the team, along with Eugene Germany, another California player).
EDIT: Chris Richards too. Damn, a lot of guys got kicked out that year.
September 29th, 2011 at 3:57 PM ^
They are not Cali guys. Banner and Garnett are from Washington.
September 29th, 2011 at 4:29 PM ^
"West Coast Guys"
September 29th, 2011 at 4:46 PM ^
Schilling! Washington boy.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
Yeah, those are three SOLID remaining options, hope we get at least two of the three.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:08 PM ^
Personally, I'd be surprised if UM takes more than one additional OL-man.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:18 PM ^
You don't think we'd take two to sure up the O-Line depth next year? I guess I'd be fine with taking one but more comfortable taking two so we don't have to worry too much about injuries.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:24 PM ^
September 29th, 2011 at 2:26 PM ^
Yeah, that makes sense, and Banner or Garnett are two great options to shoot for.
September 29th, 2011 at 8:24 PM ^
Disagree, I can't see the coaches turning away Banner or Garnett. I think we'll take 28 in this class, with the final 6 spots going to 2 OL, 2 WRs, 1 RB, 1 DB.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:10 PM ^
I hope to get just one of the three since there appears to be no chance at Diamond...Diamond waited so long he killed the chance for him to go to here. Hope he goes south and not to Wisky
September 29th, 2011 at 2:19 PM ^
Well, judging by the way the pieces were falling the coaches indicated to Adam Bisnowaty that he could go where he wanted but he couldn't stay here.
Good luck to him in Pittsburgh. Interesting he didn't choose PSU.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:29 PM ^
Well... he's from Pittsburgh, so it doesn't surprise me all that much that he'd choose Pitt over Penn State. It seems like people in Pittsburgh either love Pitt and hate Penn State or love Penn State and hate Pitt, without much middle ground.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:40 PM ^
Pittsburgh is a pro sports town by about a mile and a half. That being said, I'd say that the average fan without ties to either school leans towards Pitt. There aren't too many people with diehard alliances one way or the other. Penn State fans are really obnoxious and Pitt kind of has that underdog, find-a-way-to-lose mentality that Pittsburgh people can identify with.
September 29th, 2011 at 3:50 PM ^
Maybe it's just the people that I know from my years living in Pittsburgh and being married to someone from Pittsburgh (which, I guess, is possible), but I definitely disagree with... well... this: "There aren't too many people with diehard alliances one way or the other." You're definitely right that it's skewed slightly toward more Pitt fans than Penn State fans, though.
September 29th, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
I'm not sure if you're trying to 'out-Pittsburgh,' me but except for my years in AA I've lived here my entire life. Go ahead and take my word for it that except for the people that went to either school there aren't many college football diehards around.
September 29th, 2011 at 7:48 PM ^
"I'm not sure if you're trying to 'out-Pittsburgh,' me"
Nope, I wasn't.
I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one because, apparently, we've both lived there for a substantial number of years and have experienced very different things. It's probably reflective merely of the individual people that we know. I know a lot of people (like, seriously, everyone I know in Pittsburgh) who are diehard Pitt fans and a lot of people who are diehard Penn State fans, and very few of them went to either school. Apparently you don't. That's OK. Really, the most important thing to take away from our individual perspectives is that the right answer is probably somewhere between what both of us have experienced. Also, for what it's worth, I wasn't specifically referring to college football, which may be part of the reason for the differences between what we are describing.

Calvin Magee the recruiting machine.
September 29th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
I thought that he was ready to commit to PSU, but they slowplayed him as they were waiting for some other guys and at that point he opened up his recruiting.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:37 PM ^
negged the OP? Why? Was it because he posted news that wasn't 100% rainbows and ponies for Michigan? Jesus Christ, the dicks around here.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:44 PM ^
September 29th, 2011 at 3:25 PM ^
I wouldn't want to break my chin on his fist. I'm just curious why the neg, especially since he didn't back it up with a reason for the neg in the first place.
September 29th, 2011 at 3:28 PM ^
Don I am here to defend myself. I just think it's kinda a pointless article at this point as the OP himself acknowledged he was off the radar for Michigan, plus he didn't even go anywhere in the Big Ten or ND.
September 29th, 2011 at 6:19 PM ^
I appreciate news on where former as well as current UM targets commit. Bisnowaty was a possible backup plan. Danny O'Brien seems to be off UM's radar too. You should neg Ace's report on his announcement next week.
September 29th, 2011 at 7:05 PM ^
I disagree as well, Mr. Train. Bisnowaty was an uncommitted, offered, OL recruit and we're certainly expecting another OL commit. Until he committed somewhere, it was a possibility he would come here, even if it wasn't the most likely scenario. It's certainly post-worthy to let us know he committed elsewhere.
September 29th, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
I just moderated Don's comment 'informative' and it dropped a fake and meaningless point to 2 from 3. Even more interesting it is now listed as 'flamebait'.
September 29th, 2011 at 2:40 PM ^
So with Diamond visiting Wisc. this weekend whats the chance he commits there next week??
If he does commit to Wisc thats 3 players that we went after that are all pretty good.
Off line commits as of right now . . .
Dan Voltz ****
Kyle Dodson ****
Walker Williams ***
Jordan Diamond??? *****
Also the starting LG for the Dallas Cowboys Bill Nagy is a rookie from Wisconsin and he was only a starter when they had injuries at Wisc, never a regular guy in college. thats pretty amazing!!
September 29th, 2011 at 7:14 PM ^
If Diamond goes to Wisconsin they'll have a very good OL class, second in the league only to us. I'd prefer Diamond to leave the midwest if he doesn't come here.
Although if Diamond's issues with UM is that our class has so many good OLs, then why do to the school with the second most? If Diamond came here, he'd be the second best OT in our class, same with WIsconsin probably. And we went two full classes without taking anyone at OT.
