Best of MGoBlog: Comments.
The past few weeks I've been thinking about the best comments I've seen on MGoBlog. I'm sure everyone remembers a few good ones, so for a trip down memory lane that doesn't involve the three in the User Created HOF (link, link, link, all extremely awesome), why don't we link to some of our favorites and get a laugh on a random Tuesday, post-UV and pre-UFR?
My top five, in no particular order:
User MGoShoe, after being attacked in a previos thread about posting a "flamebait" article. OP was about a mugshot for another person named Demetrius Hart:
http://mgoblog.com/comment/reply/54281/1058591
User tripp welborne identity has two:
First, his response to Brian Kelly using helmet cams in practice for ND's QBs.
http://mgoblog.com/comment/reply/53299/1019896
And his method for getting StephenRKass an authentic Kovacs jersey:
http://mgoblog.com/comment/reply/59656/1251707
Obviously, maize and brew for me's sextuple post makes the cut:
http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/night-jerseys-selling-hotcakes-ohio
And finally, from the Lloyd Brady photoshop thread, Lloyd Brady in Tiananmen Square, from cjm:
What am I missing?
Edit: Girlfriend reminded me of the time I got her to post on an account I made for her. She threatened BlueDragon with an MGoAssBeating, so that might be popular with some of you.

I feel bad reminding him (if he's reading this), but the comments to that thread StephenRKass started in hopes of getting everyone to stop posting NSFW pictures were hilarious.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the profit/hackney work between the OSU game and Gator Bowl. Interesting times indeed, with nuclear war about once every five minutes.
September 27th, 2011 at 2:19 PM ^
Actually, I'm not all that proud of that time. I do think someone needed to try to limit all those threads but I wish it had not been me. I think it burned a lot of bridges without ever really meaning to do so. And I'm lucky I didn't get fired for the lack of productivity at work!
That said, jhackney had me in stitches that whole time - his posts were much more creative than mine!

That was the best meltdown thread, ever, because it wasn't the OP melting down...just everyone else. Then one dude had to go and blow it by putting up some naked boobs.
September 27th, 2011 at 4:38 PM ^
It was the risque pictures of people's garages that started the whole downward spiral
September 27th, 2011 at 2:36 PM ^
I remember this thread vivdly. I remember when it got locked I was so pissed because all I wanted was to go back and read it often. Do your remember his follow up thread?

It was actually a very well-written and well-thunked response. I felt for him and appreciated his sincerity. Its much harder to rib someone that you "know" and sympathize with.
September 27th, 2011 at 4:19 PM ^
It was a pretty epic post....that being said, I would love for that original thread to be opened back up or archived for like 20 minutes. I want to read it just one more time. I was in pain reading that the first time from laughing so hard.
September 27th, 2011 at 5:33 PM ^
We murdered that thread! That was the second best thread I have been involved in after the legendary" OT: Showering" thread that has since disappeared.
Good times...
September 27th, 2011 at 2:06 PM ^
What about the thread where the OP kindly asked everyone to stop posting pictures of hot girls because his wife was getting upset. That was effing hilarious and resulted in tons of inside jokes for future threads.
EDIT: Profit beat me to it, consider us even for the jerseys in Ohio episode lol.

That is all.

"Just go buy some porn."
Which prompted the reply,
"Buy? How old are you?"

This was one of the best threads for puns:

The Photoshop thread is thumbs up the best. I cannot stop laughing at that one. My class (taking a test) keeps wondering why I am crying and laughing at the same time. That thread needs to keep living so more brilliance can be added.

I always got a kick out of late night JHackney posbang threads. You really had no idea what was about to take place. This is one of my favorite threads of all time. It went from a funny thread to a ridiculous pos bang of epic proportions. Tune into pages 2-4 to see user antonio_sass give a disertation on what happens when you keep replying to your own posts. I'm confident there was no sober person posting on this thread:
September 27th, 2011 at 2:41 PM ^
JHackney and I had some epic (read: no one cared but us, and maybe BlueDragon) really lame bowl game open threads. I think we carried one to like 4 in the morning, just posting stupid stuff to try and top the other one.
September 27th, 2011 at 3:02 PM ^
You two had me in stitches when I read those late-night threads the next day at work. So funny.

I was just playing, honestly. I love being goofy.

The sad thing about that thread is it shows just how hilarious the last 9 months could have been if we'd hired Miles. I have to give myself a special pat on the back for:
"Les Miles is the guy who took Hasselhoff to What-A-Burger. Then he just dropped him off with a bottle of Seagram's VO and a camcorder and laughed his ass off the rest of the night."
September 27th, 2011 at 3:07 PM ^
By the time the PROCESS was done, you had Miles as some canabalistic child molester who wore women's clothes, and was proud of it. And those were his good characteristics.
The best was when someone who had never seen one of the posts before taking it completely seriously. Like not knowing Hoke is causing shirts to be sold in Ohio, but much more indignant.
September 27th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
I viewed Miles more as an ancient Greek/Roman deity with an insatiable sexual appetite. And the power to bend the space/time continuum to his will.

Of original Star Trek?
September 27th, 2011 at 8:39 PM ^
They just had to leave out the references to Gary Moeller's wife and eating grass to avoid getting sued.
September 28th, 2011 at 1:19 AM ^
The next day he made an OP about that, and closed it with "yes, I am a crazy person". That was one of my favorite one liners anywhere.
September 27th, 2011 at 2:33 PM ^
These thread titles went like so, " (.......) for Denard"
I kept refreshing to see what the next title would be which of course ended in, "Gay for Denard" I don't think I've ever laughed so hard.
Unfortunately since that thread was deleted, I don't know who to give credit to for that gem.
Things you're man enough to admit, and the lloyd brady photoshop thread were just pure win.

Before we ended up all hating each other, were the what was your favorite/what's your background threads. Where did you go to high school, and how were you teams? Favorite video game/cheesiest song/favorite musical theater number/best X, Y or Z movie. You kinda got to know people, and more than just their views on football, without really "outting" anyone.
And the epic hockey game double overtime post, not just for size, but reaction is pretty amusing in hindsight. It was almost as entertaining at breaks between the game, as people's heads were still ready to explode.
September 27th, 2011 at 2:59 PM ^
two years ago, in our "100 Things We Hate About Notre Dame" thread, someone posted:
#86 (or whatever) "Because Rudy doesnt die at the end of the movie".
Hope you enjoy that one half as much as I did/do!

When Em0 first got banned, I loved the first post after having every one of his alter egos discovered.

Does anyone remember or can anyone find the string of puns using like words? It was something in the same vein as this one: http://www.bordom.net/view/48161/Facebook_Puns_Harrrrr_
September 27th, 2011 at 4:36 PM ^
I'm shocked no one has mentioned the thread where some guy sent an OMG shirtless pic of himself and his kids to MSC. One person's response: "my family wears Michigan or it doesn't wear anything at all"

Nothing can possibly match NSFH.

Pure Epic until Mooseman gets really creepy and we all feel like we need a shower...
September 27th, 2011 at 6:18 PM ^
I'm surprised mention of his post took until page 2. I still remember reading it, kind of like where I was at for Pearl Harbor. That is without a doubt the funniest thing I've read on this board. Haloscan was awesome
September 27th, 2011 at 6:42 PM ^
I would put most of the responses following the Fred Jackson article in this list.

Was "explain your user name."
September 27th, 2011 at 8:00 PM ^
My personal fav was from a topic about what the new big ten logo might look like and what back lash might be coming because of having 12 schools ...
<br>Not sure the user but it went something like this...
<br>"The Big Ten. We now have 12 teams. Go fuck yourself."
<br>I rolled off my couch laughing.
