Rees looked way better on Saturday. Hopefully Kovacs hits him as hard as he hit Carder.
September 6th, 2011 at 1:10 PM ^
If we pressure Rees the way we did to Carder it won't matter how good Floyd plays. If we don't get that pressure, combo Rees/Floyd will shred us all day. Luckily I think, especially with Gordon back, that we'll get enough pressure on the QB. Our D is looking good.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:16 PM ^
Reeses Pieces!
September 6th, 2011 at 12:18 PM ^
Zing....haha
September 6th, 2011 at 5:06 PM ^
Let's chant this whenever he gets sacked.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:18 PM ^
or else ND fans wouldn't be able to claim that they would have won if Crist was in
September 6th, 2011 at 12:34 PM ^
I feel more confident going against Rees than Christ
September 6th, 2011 at 12:41 PM ^
Of course, but does Crist also scare you more than Rees?
September 6th, 2011 at 12:46 PM ^
I kinda think he may be right. Because if you think about it Rees was a back up to Crist for a reason, right? I mean there are a lot of circumstances in which a quarterback does well in relief but then struggles as a starter.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:47 PM ^
Christ would be tough to defeat.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:56 PM ^
September 6th, 2011 at 3:11 PM ^
"Christ would be tough to defeat."
He just keeps bringing his team back to life.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:20 PM ^
Crist just isn't an accurate passer. But Carder is better than both ND QBs.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:23 PM ^
Carder might be better but he did not have the type of targets that Notre Dame will have on Saturday. Michael Floyd will not be easy to stop.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:28 PM ^
I hear the South Bend police have no trouble stopping him
/hey-oo
September 6th, 2011 at 1:03 PM ^
Zing! Nice!!
In all seriousness, he is one bad mama jama.
I hope TWolf is 100% by the time Saturday rolls around or its going to be a LONG evening at the Big House. I just don't think Avery or Floyd have the skill/speed/ability to keep up with him.
Must keep pressure on Reeses Pieces to compete on D. I don't care if were disguising blitzes all day (night) with Kovacs.
September 6th, 2011 at 1:25 PM ^
But somehow Rogers shut him down last year?
September 6th, 2011 at 2:11 PM ^
He did have some big catches... 5 for 66... and I'm guessing the double coverages on him had something to do with their TE getting 8 for 164.
September 6th, 2011 at 4:12 PM ^
September 6th, 2011 at 12:49 PM ^
But he is a quality WR. It was the Carder to White show against Michigan as White accounted for 119 of WMU's 279 total yards.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:21 PM ^
Any word from mgouser IRISH after losing to USF? Any word from mgouser IRISH after losing to us the past two seasons? no. I guarantee you though, he'll be here if ND wins on Saturday.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:21 PM ^
an informative diary.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:23 PM ^
Yeah dude. I'm talking about being there after something bad happens to ND. You'll never see it. Of course he posted an informative diary. Did it last year too. He'll also make a bunch of passive aggressive comments throughout the offseason, as he will if ND wins.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:31 PM ^
September 6th, 2011 at 12:36 PM ^
I stand corrected. I'm impressed. Apologies IRISH.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:51 PM ^
Way to man up.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:27 PM ^
Listen, let me be really clear about mgouser IRISH. After losing to us the past two years, he didn't get on and say "Good Game". I GUARANTEE YOU he will log on and compliment our play if ND beats us Saturday. That is my point. Yes, he will be wishing us a good game, and complimenting our play, but he will be doing it after a ND win. Something he failed to do the last two years after ND lost.
Get my drift?
September 6th, 2011 at 12:32 PM ^
And yet, somehow, I like Irish as a poster more than you. I wonder why?
Do you want to jump onto the internet after a MICH lose and congratulate the other team's fanbase the moment the game is over?
September 6th, 2011 at 12:49 PM ^
Irish is level-headed, insightful, and respectful 99% of the time. The reason he wouldn't come on here after an ND loss should be obvious: he's still stewing over it (as any fan is when their team loses), and is sensible enough to stay away for awhile. Nothing good awaits him on this board for several days following the game, regardless of the outcome.
When Michigan loses, especially to a rival, I don't even want to be reminded of the game. No chance in hell I would go to the opposing blog site and have my face shoved in it too.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:33 PM ^
September 6th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
While he provides insight on ND it isn't accurate to say he is not confrontational. He is always lurking and jumps into threads when he thinks someone slights ND. That would be fine if this were an ND blog or even a general college football blog but this is a Michigan blog. He needs thicker skin and should expect the jabs.
Also, please go back and read his posts after the game last year.......lots of excuses about the outcome being based on Crist's injury which seriously undermines his credibility.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:35 PM ^
Does this matter? I'd be pretty pissed right after those games if we lost in similar fashion the last two years. Not sure why you need validation after we win.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:44 PM ^
Have you ever gone onto Bucknuts and congratulated them after they beat us? This is not a rhetorical question.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:50 PM ^
I'm assuming Bucknuts is an OSU message board? No, I don't go on rival message boards.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:52 PM ^
If my mother gives you a handjob, would you like me to pen you a handwritten note congratulating you on the accomplishment?
September 6th, 2011 at 1:37 PM ^
Your mom doles out handjobs to strangers?
I'm only asking because I've been a little pent up lately, and well, you know.....
September 6th, 2011 at 3:01 PM ^
It depends . . . If gremlin is just a regular John Doe like most of us then, no, probably not. However, what if gremlin is Lloyd Brady??? Would a congratulations be in order? Hmmmmm . . . its actually a tough question!
September 6th, 2011 at 5:23 PM ^
People on this board seem to have a lot of love for Irish.
And in general, he is pretty tolerable.
However, the weeks leading up to this season, he was a typical ND blowhard, spouting off like he KNEW they were BCS bound.
That's where he started to piss me off.
Of course, after the USF loss, he was on here acting much more humble. I do have to give him props for even showing up though. And his diary breaking down the ND depth chart was very informative.
Overall, he definitely makes some positive contributions to this board. But he needs to watch his tongue sometimes if he wants to continue getting all the positive favor he currently has on this blog.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:24 PM ^
In Kelly's and the collective ND mind, he offers the greater spark.
I think they come out desperate on Saturday night and really bring it to us... in the end it's Mattison that could end up the hero. Him and that Denard kid.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:31 PM ^
They did seem to have a better rhythm under Rees, but I wouldn't trust him if I was ND. I don't feel he handles pressure all that well, so hopefully we really get after him.
I think Rees benefits from happening to be the guy during ND's win streak last year. But if you go back and look at the stats, he wasn't all that impressive. And, as Dr. Saturday pointed out, that winning streak was more about the defense coming together.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:26 PM ^
...and the obvious choice, though I don't think it much matters to us. Our job is to get to the QB and pressure him. Without that, we are going to get killed on the defense.
September 6th, 2011 at 12:29 PM ^
September 6th, 2011 at 12:30 PM ^
Crist must be fuming.... and it's not like you are going to work in a couple "change of pace" packages for him considering his "talents" are very similar to Rees.
Crist's only chance to get in at this point is an injury or a total fail on Rees's part to move the offense (which I doubt will occur during the next 2 games - UM and Sparty)
September 6th, 2011 at 12:31 PM ^
I used to enjoy me a Reese's pieces, until I noticed the apostrophe. This chocolate-covered peanut butter belongs to someone! If a guy ever comes up to you and demands your food and says his name is Reese, you better give it to him.

My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana, I said "No, but I want a regular banana later, so ... yeah".
I think Pringles original intention was to make tennis balls... but on the day the rubber was supposed to show up a truckload of potatoes came. Pringles is a laid-back company, so they just said, "Fuck it, cut em up!"
I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it.

It will get you in the end almost every time.
