Indiana and Northwestern's tables are numbered wrong.
Whoops, fixed.
Nebraska's averages are decent but their volume isn't. Does anyone know how the guys they are in on are ranked? I realize that I'm probably influenced by how fast our class has filled up, but it looks like most schools are in double digits at this point.
They're apparently headed for a really small class, according to most sources I've seen.
Howeva, I'm not much of a follower of Nebraska recruiting, and couldn't really tell you who they have a good shot at (besides Andrus Peat, whose brother signed with the Huskers in February).
Apparently, Bubba Starling weighing his options to play baseball for the Royals instead.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-nebraskabegins
This is all I hear about at lunchtime at work (live in Omaha), what is Bubba gonna do? Personally I'd be almost shocked if he doesn't choose baseball instead. Really talented athlete whatever he chooses, that's for sure. If they lose him they might be screwed if they can't get a decent QB in this year's class.
Word on ESPNRadio this morning from a Husker football beat writer is that Starling will likely pick baseball. Money and the chance to play for the hometown big league team is going to be hard for him to turn down.
I also live in Omaha, They're also worried about Charles Jackson a highly ranked CB that hasn't shown up on campus yet..

I still remember (not fondly) how Henson going to NY really trashed our next season when Navarre was thrust into the starting job way too soon.
August 8th, 2011 at 10:58 AM ^
Blame, Steinbrenner for that. He had so much spare money that he threw some Henson's way, so that Ohio wouldn't have to face him again. In case you didn't know it Steinbrenner was an Ohio fan and got his masters while stationed in Columbus.
Indiana at #7 is really shocking. Kevin Wilson is doing some big things there.
I mean not really. He's very lucky that the nation's #1 QB is from his home state and has an older brother on the team. Sure, it was still big for IU to sign Kiel, but that was tee'ed up well for him.
Outside of Kiel, IU hasn't one commit with a 4-star ranking by any service and much of the class is 2-star/NR, or just about where their class always is.
Well, isn't the fact that he landed that kid a big deal for them? How many other kids have been in state guys who IU could never pull no matter the situation?
I'd say that the fact he pulled him in when it was set up well means something, especially when NOT landing him is the norm for that program.
And why the hell am I happy for IU football landing a good player? Am I THAT starved for football and BTN's perpetual MSU-ND reruns just not cutting it?
Tee'd up? I guess I missed all the recruiting battles they win over OU and Bama
Uh, I think WolvinLA's point is that there are some important ways in which Kiel's recruitment is not at all like other recruiting battles with OU and Bama.
August 7th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
and my point is those few things that made it different did not seal Kiel to IU. To try and down grade how great of a job IU did recruiting him or how huge Kiel is for their recruiting class is ridiculous.

Why dont you go to a ND blog and GET OFF MY LAWN.....You wacky Irish ..GO BLUE!!!
I know that we'll likely add at least one receiver, but it's pretty crazy that we have a class of 21 (or 22) right now without a single QB, RB, or WR.

No matter how you spin in ... nd is not in the B1G.
