ESPN College Football Tradition Contest
Well, we beat Clemson pretty decisively. Now on to Nebraska. The new poll is up, so be sure to go to ESPN.com and vote !
All they do is touch a horseshoe as they walk out, so they should be beatable. Beats being in the other bracket, where ND's "Play like a champion" is going up against FSU's Chief Osceola and Renegade . . .
As they say in Chicago, vote early and vote often!
http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/post/_/id/6711772/11-michigan-vs-15-neb…
I will vote away!
Nebraska vs OSU
Georgia vs Tennessee
now us vs Nebraska
Also, how did they seed the tournament? It all seems so arbitrary.
We iz alredy lozing!!!
We iz now winningz!
down by 10 percent 55-45
need some votes
I went there for two years and had to touch the rock, nothing special about touching a rock and walking down a hill. I have never had the chance to run out of the MICHIGAN stadium and TOUCH THE BANNER!! In front of 113,000 people....That is something you would never ever forget!
On the work computer, work phone, and personal phone. I'm now out of resources
wrong. vote repeatedly with private browsing/incognito window.
If there are 2-3 of us doing this a little, we'll swing the vote...at least for now.
Use Google Chrome.
Right click the link and choose "open link in incognito window"
Vote and repeat
*The incognito window prevents cookies from being installed so you can vote as often as you like.
copy the link.. hit control, shift and P to open a private browsing session..vote for us..close out browser..rinse and repeat..ive been at it for an hour lol
then you only have to hit f5 to refresh...as I was told when I asked
Closing the gap. 53-47
We're going to be in a battle here. 53-47 bad guys.
someone should post this on the Michigan Football page etc. and/or twitter where there are lots of people with time to vote. I'd do it but that woudl mean I'd have to log onto facebook....not
Closing the gap @2:50pm...
Neb-51
UM-49
Edit: 50-50 now @3pm
to every Meechigan fan I know, and asked them all to vote and forward it on. Anyone else willing to do this can reach a lot of M fans very quickly. GO BLUE!
if you launch an in private mode or incognito window in either Chrome or Firefox you can vote as much as you like.
I sent it to can do that. I can't do it from work.
We will also gain a lot of votes when Michigan posts it on the Facebook page. A lot of casual fans will see it that way
So what I took from the prestgious Nebraska entrance is that you touch a dirty horseshoe nailed to the wall and then jog out onto the field. We cannot match that.
We are almost past them, its 49 - 51...Let'sssssss gooooo
Come on we are so close to taking the lead. 51-49 Nebraska lets go blue!
When I vote in in-private browsing it seems to not count my multiple votes. Can someone explain that?
Someone mentioned that the poll is not updating the results in real time, but updating them every 10 minutes or so. I assume the votes count even if the total number of votes appears to stay the same.
Yes read a few posts up for the explanation
yep, read my post above.
once you choose michigan and click submit, the vote is posted, and nothing can change that. there's no additional verification (as far as i can tell). its really a pretty crude system set up by espn.
I tried to script it, but I can't get an actual link or the correct amount of tabs to make a send key script. Or would that be too much?
53-47 M over N
M/N=WINNER
I say go for it. Nebraska has been hit with accusations of hacking to get votes, so I say pre-emptive strike to take (and keep) the lead.
Look at the total votes. It's constant for a while, then it jumps by a few hundred.
Looks like the target is 80-90 k for the total votes. Where the hackers at?
Keep in mind we have a critical disadvantage: we're in the eastern time zone (mostly) and will tire and go to sleep before these albion, corn-eating, gyspsy grifter bastards. They'll have the edge into the night, and I assume carpal tunnel syndrome will have knocked most of us out of the fight by morning. All we can do then is pray...
We're winning...
...so who do we want to face in a potential finals? I'm thinking Notre Dame might be easier to beat, so should we vote for them? Everyone hates Notre Dame.
"Great kid...don't get cocky!"
52-48 good guys. Keep it up.
It was at 53-47 in Michigan's favor, but now it is back to 50-50. It looks like Nebraska isn't giving up that easy. The fight isn't over till <Insert motivational saying here>.
I was gonna say we need to "win one for the Gipper", but then I remembered, well, you know, that's not us . . . .
It seems like kind of a dumb tradition if none of the fans can even see it happening.
And if practically every other school in the country walks down a tunnel to enter the stadium.
That is exactly what I had been thinking too! Like we don't walk out a tunnel to start a game? Like everyone doesn't? I know I must be missing something, but I gotta say - I just don't get it. The horseshoe part I understand, but the Husker fans are all saying that the Tunnel Walk is the big deal, not the horseshoe . . .
I just watched 5 different videos of the 'tunnel walk' on youtube. Three different terrible video intros. Then they walk through some halls to try to find the field. On the way they touch a horseshoe picture hanging from the ceiling. Did I miss anything?
A family friend married a hardcore Nebraska fan/alumni. I asked him, and he wasn't completely sure what the origin of the walk was, or if there was a special story behind it.
Gonna be a long vote. save url to clipboard, open chrome - incognito -> ctrl-w, ctrl-shift-n, ctrl-v, enter, click Michigan, click vote, repeat. Is there a faster way?
It puts a cookie on your computer when you vote to prevent you from voting again. Just turn off cookies in your browser settings and every time you refresh after a vote you get a clean ballot.

Disable cookies, then load the page. Click on Michigan, click on vote, reload, repeat. I don't know what the keyboard shortcut for reload is on Chrome, but there's a good chance it's ctrl-r (or cmd-r on a Mac).
A horseshoe?
It's 50/50 right now.
50%-50%. vote it up people. After reading the comments on that page, UM has to beat those corn people.
Vote! I believe voting ends next Tuesday so it would be wise to have reminder threads periodically.
Will vote daily!
