Who had Eric Berry the next Woodson? Uh, yeah...
April 28th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
Ingram to the Patriots. BKFinest it.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:06 PM ^
Pats have an interesting pick, even if Baltimore takes one.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:10 PM ^
Or not. Fuck New England. They collect picks like drug dealers collect OSU memorabilia.
Saints took him in the same slot, so I was kind of right?
April 28th, 2011 at 11:18 PM ^
How the hell are there any teams that still trade with New England on draft day? Haven't they learned their lesson? Aren't New England fans annoying enough without their team continuing to stockpile draft pucks?
April 28th, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
Rather than actually take players that might beat them in the fall rather than April.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
It's been 7-8 years since they've won a Super Bowl, so it's not impossible to question the Patriots. No one's getting younger. And players win Super Bowls, not draft picks. (Have to eventually take some good players).
April 28th, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
In round 2. But good thing you didn't Raback it.

Unless the Saints are taking him right now...
April 28th, 2011 at 11:10 PM ^
i don't know if Tom brady knows what to with a real rb behind him. He might freek out if he gives someone the ball more than 12 times in a game
April 28th, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
They will no doubt sign Tiki Barber.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
LMAO
April 28th, 2011 at 11:08 PM ^
Baltimore failed to get the pick in on time so Kansas City was able to get their pick in first right when Baltimore's clock expired.
26. Kansas City (Baltimore's position): Jonathan Baldwin (WR) Pittsburgh
27. Baltimore (Kansas City's position, From Atlanta through Cleveland): Jimmy Smith (CB) Colorado
On the Clock: New England
April 28th, 2011 at 11:05 PM ^
If the Ravens hadn't been so successful, I'd say missing their first round pick is a fire-able offense.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:08 PM ^
Trade the pick. Sigh. Tommy didn't want to win another Super Bowl. He just wanted a lot of picks when he retires.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
ESPN saying Baltimore thought it had a deal with Chicago. I guess it works out for the Ravens anyway as they got the guy everyone thought they would. It would have been a complete disaster if KC put in for Smith, however.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
Wonder why Robert Quinn fell so far and JJ Watt rose so much? And how the hell can teams be given an immediate draft grade? We should be grading the draft from 2008 or 2009 right now, not a pick made 13 seconds ago. If your pick is the best guy, but gets hurt in a moped accident, that was unfortunately not a good pick.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:55 AM ^
were scared off about Robert Quinn's brain tumor that happened in HS. Some NFL teams took him off the board for that reason.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:17 PM ^
28. New Orleans (From New England): Mark Ingram (RB) Alabama
On the Clock: Chicago
Note: New England receives New Orlean's 2nd round pick and their 2012 1st round pick.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:19 PM ^
That's 4 Alabama players in the first round. And that's insane.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:21 PM ^
That year miami had 6 first round picks was absurd. Sucks that they got that they got the shaft in the MNC on that PI call and that maurice Clarett was ever eligible to step onto a college campus
April 29th, 2011 at 11:31 AM ^
Not to defend the Buckeyes, but I'd bet a dollar that Miami had some ineligible players on the field that season, as well.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
29. Chicago: Gabe Carimi (OT) Wisconsin
On the Clock: NY Jets
April 28th, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
Over/under on how many New England actually MAKE and take a player with?
April 28th, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
30. NY Jets: Muhammad Wilkerson (DE) Temple
On the Clock: Pittsburgh
April 28th, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
Damn
April 28th, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
31. Pittsburgh: Cameron Heyward (DE) Ohio State
On the Clock: Green Bay
April 28th, 2011 at 11:29 PM ^
Nice work on this, BTW.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:31 PM ^
I concur. Thanks for doing the updates here.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:35 PM ^
Thank you, and it was my pleasure to do something to give back to the MGoCommunity for all the information and entertainment it has provided me.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:30 PM ^
Looks like they're looking for a guy to take over for Aaron Smith.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:30 PM ^
Love this pick, hate the school. We have enough Michigan guys to keep him in check.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:31 PM ^
NFL Draft record 12 defensive linemen in the 1st round. Could be 13 depending on what the Packers do.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:40 PM ^
32. Green Bay: Derek Sherrod (OT) Mississippi State
On the Clock: New England
Note: The 2nd and 3rd rounds will be picked tomorrow starting at 6 PM on ESPN and NFL Network.
My guess is that New England will trade their first pick tomorrow to the highest bidder who will use it to select De'Quan Bowers
April 28th, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
Were unfortunately familiar.

Lions draft going Fairley well so far..
April 28th, 2011 at 11:40 PM ^
April 28th, 2011 at 11:42 PM ^
Akeem Ayers is still around at #12(44). Unlikely, but man that would work out well.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:46 PM ^
Addressing needs with two starters through the draft would be great, and if those positions were locked down for 5-7 years that would be perfect.
Ayers would be nice. So would Dowling from UVA.
April 28th, 2011 at 11:55 PM ^
The more I've thought about it, I'm ecstatic about the Fairley pick. NFL CBs are so limited by the rules that unless you have an elite CB (probably only 4 in the league) drafting a CB that high is not worth it.
Rushing the passer and stopping the run is key, and the Lions addressed both with one pick.
April 29th, 2011 at 12:44 AM ^
Maybe. I think Prince will be a good pro. That said, the idea of Fairley (with a chip on his shoulder) and Suh ripping through the interior line is pretty enticing.
All that said, Detroit is NOT the place for guys with potential character issues. I'm a little worried about that with Fairley. Apparently his entourage for the draft was 40 deep.
you have 2-3 shutdown corners and another 3-5 very good ones that rarely need safety help, even on top WRs, and then everybody else (not a big jump from ~#6 to ~#50).
April 29th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
How do I cope with yet another TSIO player being picked? I don't think I can do it anymore...
April 29th, 2011 at 12:56 AM ^
I want the Lions to land Bruce Carter. That fills the need at OLB and is a 1st round talent if healthy.
Lions draft Fairley to go with Suh, Vanden Bosch, Willams, and Avril....and the Bears and Packers run out and draft O-linemen. COINCIDENCE?????
....well, probably, but still. Hopefully Fairley doesn't turn out to be the head case he sounds like.
They're going about it all wrong--they should be just cutting to the chase and drafting replacement quarterbacks. If you're drafting with the mindset: Who do you not want to play AGAINST...Fairley goes first overall this year. Suh goes first EVERY year. If I'm naming this DL, I'm going with "Cruel Intentions".
Anyone else impressed with Scout's top 32 as it relates to players actually selected? Besides Da'Quan Bowers(and his knees) and the run on QB's, it seems like the nfl is looking at the same cheat sheet I am...
