OT - Best Barber in Ann Arbor?
I know this is quite OT, but I'm in the market for a haircut soon so I'm seeking board help on the best barber shop to go to. I usually just go home to my barber at home for a haircut, but its getting pretty un-manageable and I can't wait much longer. Some advice on good places and their prices would be great. Thanks.

I go there. My girl, Tess, shaves my neck with a straight razor and hot foam, and then gives me a warm oil neck massage.
I have zero complaints, as you can imagine.

Certainly not the cheapest, but you can't beat the atmosphere and Jerry is great. Always did a great job with my old white dude afro and my now more standard short hair.
Of course my opinion might be tainted by the fact that I've been going there forever and he would often offer me a beer while waiting.

I've been going there since I can remember, knows everyone in Ann Arbor and always manages to work around my widows peak.
If you want a barber, I think the others have adequately covered it.
If you want a stylist, I went to Weegee for my entire time in Ann Arbor, he's as good or better than anyone I've had in Chicago since then. He takes his time -- his appointment blocks are typically for an hour (or at least they were then), so he has the time to get the cut exactly right.
How much is a haircut there? I normally go to barber but every once in a while I'll venture out and try something different.
Pricey for Ann Arbor, probably in the $35-40 range, but given he spends a lot of time on each person (most places try to get you in and out fast while he spends quality time on you) and is good, I thought it was worth it.
Jerry is 152 years old but he only looks 70. Great guy. As him about the real estate he owns.
If you're looking for an experience, are easy to please, and want an easy cut with clippers, go to Coach and Four. However, if you have a particular style in mind, need a scissor cut, or want the stylist's opinions, I recommend Aveda or Nogginz.
I had three cuts at Coach and Four and only Jerry's son did a decent job. Jerry's were always crooked and required me fixing it as best as I could. Funny that Bo signed "to the worst barber in AA," I'd have to second that.
Nogginz or Aveda both do a good job, but keep in mind that Aveda might have some hack student on his/her 3rd haircut... I don't have any particular stylists to recommend.
FWIW, I went to Coach and Four for my first year and a half in ann arbor, but usually got one of the less talkative guys. I switched to State Street barber for the last few years and love it.

I believe somewhere in the comments you said something about being of the caucasian persuasion, but if you for what ever reason feel the need to get your hair faded or tapered, I do have a bit of advice. Stay away from Rush's Barber Shop on Broadway a little before the Broadway Bridge. That place is the reason why I learned how to cut my hair as a teenager after one of many traumatizing experience...

Matt at Campus Barbers gets my vote also. He has done my hair for years and always does a great job. He uses the straight razor on my neck, and was Tom Brady's barber also.
