|06/22/2018 - 11:53am||SMart WolveFan was right and…||
SMart WolveFan was right and this is probably not the right post for me to bring all this up. I'm happy for the kid and it was shitty for me to be a Debbie Downer in his commitment post. I have absolutely no problem with this kid, or any other 3 star kid, committing to Michigan. I hope this kid is great and if he moves up the recruiting rankings as a result of this commitment then more power to him.
I'm just saying that recruiting rankings on the whole have proven to matter and when seemingly no one but 3 stars are committing that does not portend great things for the future.

I'm glad everyone has someone to rail against and I certainly wish this kid no ill will and hope he's a great player, but when was the last time Michigan got a 4 star to commit?
I don't follow recruiting super closely, but every time I see a kid is linked to Michigan or has committed to Michigan I just assume it's a three star and I honestly don't remember the last time I was wrong about that.
|06/06/2018 - 9:40am||I took the plunge and bought…||
I took the plunge and bought a 4k TV a few months ago. For TVs I usually wait until the new models come out and buy the previous year's after a price drop. I bought the Sony 900E 55" model for $1000. I don't have the best home theater setup at my house and I sit only about 10-12' away so I didn't need a super high end TV.
I don't regret the purchase at all and would recommend the TV for a mid-range option.4k content looks great on the TV, but 4k content is kinda few and far between at this point. The TV uses Android TV and the interface is a little sluggish at times, but I don't often use the native apps. I typically either am watching cable or using my PS4.
I would highly recommend rtings.com for finding a good TV for you. If the website reviews are a little too much info they have video reviews for each TV up on YouTube where they do a great job of explaining the strengths and weaknesses of each TV for the lay person.

It's basically points per game above average. It is similar to WAR for baseball so it's a counting stat. Since Pool doesn't get the same amount of minutes most of those other guys got he can't put up big counting stats numbers.

|11/07/2017 - 9:02pm||New Glarus||
New Glarus is a world class brewery and is about 40 minutes outside of Madison, if you're driving it's not too far out of the way to stop by on your way. They're open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. so you should make that your first stop if you're able. At the very least pick some up while you're in Wisconsin and bring it back with you.

Even if Michigan maintains its -68 point swing from 2016 to 2017 like it did against Penn State, Michigan will still beat Rutgers by 10.

Not to pile on and maybe this is an insane criticism, but if he even gets a hand on the CB on DPJ's screen pass that is a TD. I know the CB is playing way off, but Crawford has to know that's a screeen and I would have liked to see a little more effort to at least sheild the defender from pursuing to the ball.

|06/21/2017 - 4:53pm||MGoSleeper||
I didn't necessarily expect Paye to be one of the MGoSleepers in this year's class, but how many other guys would even be eligible? He and Paea were the last two players on defense that were even eligible (frome what I remember anyway) and Paea might end up on the offensive line. Am I incorrect in thinking that there were typically two chosen each year with one on offense and one on defense?
|04/29/2017 - 9:32pm||Draft Stock: Hoke v. Harbaugh||
Locks to get drafted
1. Butt - Actually gets drafted higher under Hoke since he doesn't tear his ACL in the bowl game as Michigan misses its 3rd consecutive bowl game in this horrific scenario
2. Peppers - Obvious
3. Wormley - Highest floor of any of the defensive guys
4. Lewis - Too talented to not get picked
Almost sure things
5. Charlton - Pretty much same category as Lewis, but somewhat more likely for his development to be bungled
6. Glasgow - Similar to Wormley in terms of high floor and great motor
7. Hill - I think he benefitted from Brown's defense and being able to show off his man coverage abilities
11. Gedeon (Joe Bolden petitions for a 6th year and is granted eligibilty because NCAA and Gedeon never gets a single start)

I don't know too much about football guys, but I'll try my best. Maybe the Mayor will have some advice for me.
|11/22/2013 - 11:42pm||1-3-1||
I think tonight's use of the 1-3-1 was the perfect scenario to break it out. Although I have a bit of a different take on it than some of you guys. I don't know if this was Michigan finding itself a defense that they will use with much more frequency than they did tonight. I don't know if it should all of a sudden be the primary defense to run, but that it's the perfect defense to pull out for short stretches in a game where you try to discombobulate the opponent a bit in hopes for a few turnovers or at least forcing them into some bad possessions. It may very well be Michigan's most effective defense and the one that best fits the personnel, but (to make a totally absurd comparison) I feel it's almost like when Rocky fights right-handed the entire fight and then has the opportunity to switch to southpaw to try to throw Apollo Creed for a loop. There will be games where it doesn't need to be used, but it's a nice ace to have up your sleeve in case you're desperate for a few stops.
I think overall it's a better weapon in these types of games or in the NCAA tournament where there is less time to scheme and practice against one team and less familiarity with an opponent as well. I wouldn't be too upset if we didn't see Michigan run it much in conference play.
|11/20/2013 - 12:36pm||Rivals 5 star||
Considering he's just one of a handful of kids given 5 stars for the 2015 class on Rivals I'd say he's probably pretty good.
|11/20/2013 - 12:08pm||2014||
Obviously we have no data at this point, but I think we all have our assumptions on how the offense will look. How does the math change if there is only modest improvement (no games with negative rushing yards, coherent schemes, but still outmanned by some defenses)? If next year it seems like everything is moving forward and the coaches seem to be doing an adequate job does it become some sort of 50/50 split that whatever struggles we encounter is caused by Rich Rod and The Process?
Maybe this is a stupid question because if the current coaching staff is doing the best with what they have then it's unlikely many people will be unhappy with the product on the field. Instead, everyone will be looking towards the future when Michigan will once again be able to grind teams into a fine paste.
