Vlad Gone??

Sophomore safety Vlad Emilien has left the Michigan football team, Scout.com learned Wednesday morning.

Sorry to see Vlad go as for whatever reason he was one recruit I thought would blossom at UM once healthy.  I know one of the coaches at Wisconsin who had echoed those sentiments as they apparently were very disappointed to lose out on his commitment.  

I wish him well though as he seemed to be a class act.

I just don't understand these kids and their incredible lack of patience.  Vlad Emilein is a sophomore at a position of need THIS SEASON!  And, isn't this the kid that Michigan continued to show interest in after other schools were scared off by his knee injury (thee OSU).  Granted, we know absolutely zero about his personal situation or the status of his knee but c'mon.  Man.  C'mon!

Maybe instead of taking a moment out of our busy days sitting at desks pretending to do our jobs to rip on a kid without knowing the first thing about why he's transferring, we can just wish him well and keep it moving.

Why does every damn transfer have to be on defense? Argh this rebuilding process on D seems like it's going to take a decade to get us back to normal.  Cam goes down and we're done.

Are these kids so swept up in emotions both good and bad that they cannot at least understand timing?  Why would a kid leave the team now and not at the end of the year???

If he stays and practices if nothing else he'll have another year of D1 practice, training, and conditioning.  Plus, in the unfortunate instance of injury he may play and secure a role on the team.  Leave now to spend a year eating pizza and playing xbox certainly doesn't help a player with the next team either.

It's the non-sports equivalent of quitting a job before the next one is secured.  Dumb, dumb, dumb, IMHO.

First of all, people are getting worked up before anything is verified that he is leaving the university.

Second, even if he is, maybe his mother/grandmother/second cousin has cancerand he's moving home to be with them, so before everyone starts calling a 19 year old a pussy, or depth chart escapist, find out what really happened maybe.

How about waiting until we discover what his personal situation is before going off on him?  And then, even if it is a playing time issue or whatever, simply letting it go and wish him well?

I'd be all in favor of banning each and every overreacting personal attacker.

Interesting that Rivals hasn't reported this yet.  Also, someone posted a post on The Fort about it and it was removed.


EDIT:  They are basicall saying they have heard it from a "source" but want reassurance before posting.
