Lots of tight games around the country today:

-Tulsa playing OSU close

-Alabama only wins by 2 over Florida

-Clemson and GT is only 7 to 3 in the 3rd quarter

-Oklahoma won by just 7 over Nebraska

-Cincinnati and Indiana was a super close game until near the end of the 4th quarter

Based on all this evidence, I don't think there is a "runaway" best team in the nation right now.  It's pretty wide open this season.  Just when we all wanted to give up on the idea of parity in college football... it pulls us right back in!

Oh and Wake Forest absolutely destroyed FSU.  Wake is now 3-0.  Watch out for the Demon Deacons!  lol

It’s going to get really interesting if they drop another game or two. OSU looks mortal for the first time since 2018 and it just happens to be the first year Urban is no longer on campus.

That may be a coincidence but how does Ryan Day handle that pressure? How does the team? They’ve been so good for so long will be interesting to find out.

And the big 10 East looks very tough this year. We are much improved, MSU just beat a ranked Miami (YTM) team very convincingly. IU is not a pushover. Of course Penn State and Wisconsin are always tough.

if I’m not mistaken OSU’s QB depth this season runs RS freshman, RS freshman, true freshman. This might be a tough year for them. They are certainly due for one

I'm sure I'm a little biased, but I have a hard time believing MSU's played anyone significant yet. Miami was ranked #12 preseason, I think that's the only reason they were ranked when they played MSU. We were ranked #13 when we played MSU last year and looked how that turned out. Watching Kenneth Walker III is a microcosm of the team - is he really that good, or are the defenders bad at plugging holes and tackling?

I mean I don’t believe it’s a coincidence. That’s all I could think about during that Oregon game. I wonder how much Urban was doing behind the scenes.

They also lucked out with the Justin Fields transfer. Big 10 East looks legit this year. How is the rest of the team handling Ewers being a millionaire just by stepping foot on campus? Any cracks in that foundation? God I hope so. To see that team Miami themself would be so amazing.

Well, I'm going to enjoy their return to mortality. It will take a few seasons for everything to fall apart though. t(tm)OSU fans have for a decade or more deluded themselves about their superiority. I know these folks...they base their small self worth upon that belief. They know their bagmen bought their teams and have been very, very successful but just willfully ignored this as they won. Times change though.

To be clear, every advantage that t(tm)OSU has enjoyed with their bagmen supporting a fakeNIL  environment over the past 30 (or more) years is now a flat field. I think Quinn Ewers would have gotten a million dollars ten years ago if their boosters thought he was worth it (hey Terelle Pryor's improper benefits!). Today all the elite schools will develop a program for player NIL development and under the table improper benefits will become less of a factor.

As to Ryan Day, what has he proved when Urban Meyer isn't around? I'll wait for the #OSUAnon bots to comment (lol).

With two timeouts available, Tulsa just ran one offensive play in the game’s final 50 seconds.  Amazing how coaches do not seem to understand that time on the clock is more important than having timeouts in your pocket.

Wow, only 76,000 fans?!  Is that for real??  What kind of fair weather fans have they become down there?!

I had to laugh when they were all calling for their DC's head after the loss to Oregon.  They lose one non-conference home game, first in something like 3 years, and they're already crying about it and wanting blood.

I agree. Their biggest advantage over us is depth. We have to thread the needle just to put ourselves in a position to beat them at the end of the season. Meanwhile, they can get an injury at a key spot in the middle of the game and have another world beater ready to earn himself free beers for life in Columbus.

I really hate playing them last game of the season every year. It can turn a successful season into a failure and ruin any forward momentum that the team created over the course of the season. Plus, with their insane recruiting and early departures, catching them before they’re fully “reloaded” might be helpful.
