TCU Frogs Today Podcast Previews UM/TCU
From the 10 minute to 22 minute mark there is a preview of Michigan/TCU with an analytics focus that is fairly balanced I would say given it’s on a TCU show. Stats guy is well known CFB stats guy on Twitter who also happens to be a TCU Fan (https://mobile.twitter.com/statsowar).
Here is the link.

Thanks for the link to the podcast, but I don't spend all my time listening to such things. We all spend our time differently, so I'll go on without knowing what TCU fans think about the game. Thanks for the discussion!

This is a really weird response! Ha.

I thought it was a really weird post. 'Hey, here's a link to something someone said!'
December 17th, 2022 at 10:04 AM ^
I like links. Just had a few for breakfast.

"Here's a link to a different perspective about our team and this upcoming massive game they're playing in, as well as some light commentary about what was said"
You're right, how dare he?!?

You do understand how messageboards work, correct? Do you realize you are currently on a messageboard, or do we need to help you find your way home?

"Here's a link to what someone said" is most of this blog...
December 17th, 2022 at 9:48 AM ^
Lol what? The vast majority of news/content sharing follows that format…reporting what others say. I’m confused. Is your opinion that all mgoboard content should be original thought content or journalism?
December 17th, 2022 at 10:09 AM ^
Would love another NIL thought piece thread!

He probably just wants it summarized, bullet points in iambic pentameter preferably, so he doesn't need to spend the time listening.
December 17th, 2022 at 10:30 AM ^
Almost spot on - don't care about the bullet points, though! A summary would be nice. Note that 'summary', for those that don't know, is a summary. Just a highlight of what was said, no details needed. It doesn't even require an opinion!
Unfortunately, most people don't care about that and don't post it with their links. Others think they're hurt because some people like to see a summary. I think Indonacious is a pretty good poster, but the lack of a summary is just lazy and tells me the pod isn't worth listening to.

Holy shit dude, just stop. OP was generous enough to link this podcast and you're demanding that they also give you a summary because you're too lazy to listen? If it's not your thing, then don't listen, but demanding a written summary is absurd. Do you demand the cashier at the grocery store make your dinner as well?
December 17th, 2022 at 10:33 AM ^
Nope. A summary would have been nice because not everyone wants to go listen to everything someone else finds. Perhaps I just should have asked for a summary? It's pretty sad that I'd have to, though...

I mean it’s a message board post, of something that I thought was worth sharing. I don’t think it requires a demonstration of my work ethic lol. If you don’t have 10 minutes to listen when you are taking a dump, it’s ok, don’t listen to it. I don’t even know how to provide a transcript of the content like it was a presser or something. I suppose I could have provided a high yield summary to your taste but ya, your right, I was too lazy to do that on a Saturday morning. Cheers!

Really one of the worlds greatest tragedies that you might have to ask for a summary. Heartbreaking, really.
December 17th, 2022 at 12:37 PM ^
You’re such a bum dude
December 17th, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
Va? You okay? Your responses are spot-on 99% of the time, but you missed it on this one. This content is totally applicable, and interesting, too.
Good post, OP.

I really enjoyed how the stats guy said that even though OSU was a top four team analytically, they were still far closer to TCU down at 11 or 12 then they were to Georgia or Michigan at 1 and 2.
He described the two semi-finals as seeing if one of these underdogs can beat one of the two goliaths. It's just delicious to be a goliath in that statement, and even more delicious because OSU is one of the underdogs lol.

UGA will be playing the part of 'mr. whipple' on 12/31. here's to squeezing that charmin in big way....
December 17th, 2022 at 9:37 AM ^
I’m not sure what metrics / measurements are appropriate, but - the Charmin Mr Whipple is squeezing could be tougher than Georgia’s New Years Eve opponent.

Thanks for finding this and posting the link. As a fan I like to know what the opponent is about/up to as they prepare to play UM.
December 17th, 2022 at 12:19 PM ^
The stats guy was recognizing the difficulty for TCU to win this game. But the take about TCU DL matching up to UM OL because of the past success of TCU is a little off. They better be ready for the blocking they are going to see. They are also underestimating the skill position players we have, especially TEs.

I look for TCU to come out guns a blazing and catching us off guard. The board will lose its shit when we go down 14-3 in the first qtr, myself included. We’ll settle in the 2 qtr and head to the half down 17-13. Minter and Co make adjustments and we squeeze the life out of them winning 34-20. We cover and we can enjoy Georgia giving OSU a prostate exam with a size 13 cleat for the evening game.
