The Snowflake Thread: Coaching

Oh, this one will be amazing, I bet.

Yeah, I am pretty sure I know which incidents will get airplay here, and they should be discussed, I think.

WRONG GORDO.....   Brandon sure isn't gonna do it... .and you sure don't want him doing another coach search.....

First, Brandon will need to be replaced, to remove Hoke...  isn't it obvious ?

Of all the things, I'm kind of surprised people are the most upset at this. Gardner was gimpy most of last year and played a game on a broken foot. They took him out two plays after the late hit potential head injury, and only because Morris refused to come out. I'm not even sure it was a head hit, more like on the chin. The not calling the TO when Gardner's helmet came off was shitty, but Bellomy was on his way in until he couldn't find his helmet. I dunno, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they did a concussion check on Morris at that point and would have taken his helmet if he had failed.

Where's unWavering, Cold War, Sten Carlson, Mr. Yost has finally jumped ship, I know there are others. Are you finally done defending this incompetent baboon? Or do we have to keep fighting you on this issue.

team is playing so poorly - Hoke just looks pathetic standing on the sidelines with no headphones - you would think he is free to make important decisions - like hey your QB is hurt and may need to come out............FireHoke.com

I didn't even want RR fired until the gator bowl. I want Hoke fired now. Like, literally fired immediately following this game, just totally and completely a joke in every way, save for maybe the defense, but that can't even come close to making up for such utter failure and incompetence in everything else. God help Shane Morris, hope the kid is ok.

For the first time in over 20 years, I chose to just do something else when I knew Michigan was on.  I only looked in in time to see Morris playing hurt, then getting drilled and almost collapsing.  And still in the game.  Then Gardner, finally in, losing his helmet; and Morris put back in?  They couldn't call a time out and throw Bellomy in there to hand the ball off?  Shit show.  Turned it back off.  The only thing that could replace my apathy right now is anger.

Going to go look a washing machines with my wife.  It's a far more useful thing to do.

Oh yeah, and Sparty is going to f***ing kill us.

I can't think of ever seeing a situation like everything that happened when Morris was hurt, so I have no idea what the precedent is, but that has to cost Hoke his job. I don't think Brandon will do it, but how can anyone in the AD watch those events unfold and not be upset?

100% serious: if he's willing considering Chad Carr's situation Lloyd Carr should be the interim head coach of this team come Monday.  I think he'd get them playing hard enough to win 7 games too (only because the Big Ten is atrocious).

But more importantly he wouldn't make me fucking embarrassed that our head coach would do that shit.

that Lloyd's behind-the-scenes perfidy is why we don't already have Miles or Harbaugh (I have mixed feelings about this one, but anyway)as of '08 or at least '11, and part of why the RR regime crashed and burned. I hope that when Brandon and Hoke are swept out the door, that there is a gracious way to get this inscrutable saboteur out the door as well.

I guess what astounds me is that I think the handling of Morris in this game brings into question - at least for me - one of the pillars of the culture Hoke has tried to create in Ann Arbor, and that is the family aspect. I could be way off here, but if he still believes that, then not shutting down Shane for the remainder once it was clear he was quite hurt needs to have a lengthy, careful explanation attached to it that does not contain "toughness" and "execution".

Hoke has to go. The team isn't progressing mentally or physically. We're watching these kids make the same fundamental mistakes over and over. The staff as a whole isn't a wash, but Hoke and Wellman need to go. Move Manning back to LBs, Mattison to HC and get a legit corners coach.

The decisions have nothing to do with the team or winning. He ran a hurry up down 31 with the starters in the last minute, and today they ran 40 seconds off the clock per play down three scores in the fourth quarter. He decided on Morris and Mossis was going to stay in the game irrespective of performance or health -- because that is what Brady decided. Sad

The team is a tire fire.  Obviously Brady has to go and I really think it should be now, not at the end of the season.  But here's what really makes me feel ill:  I have no faith that Dave Brandon will do anything right with this situation.  Does anyone believe he will be able to hire a good replacement?  Brandon needs to go, too, and I don't think he will.  That means we may be in the same boat well into the future.  I feel sick.
