Exactly what more can be done for student athletes academically?  They receive a LOT of benefits regular students don't.

If the NFL truly cared only about helping those with cancer, shouldn't they focus on testicular or prostate cancer?  Men are the primary fans of the NFL and I'd bet FAR fewer people are aware of the checks necessary to determine if you are afflicted with either of these cancers.  Advertising breast cancer awareness from the NFL is the equivalent of The Real Housewives series raising awareness about prostate cancer.  You aren't hitting your target audience.

I think we all know how "high and mighty" ND holds themselves out to be, and what a farce that actually is.  There have been, what, one direct death linked to the football program (Sullivan) and one indirectly linked through rumors of sexual assault by a player.  They have players prostituting themselves for grades, creating false life stories and girlfriends, rampant cheating among their players, "tutors" having sex with players, players arrested for assaulting police officers, etc.  Truly a despicable program.  Really living up to the false Christian values they profess to adhere to.

You know these "little boys" everyone tries to shield on this website are, in fact, 18-23 year old young men.  I think that after going 2-4, they might bear a small semblance of responsibility as well.  Maybe they aren't entitled to have 109,000 show up NO MATTER WHAT.  We've seen the statements, the athletes have chosen to support Dave Brandon.  That's fine.  

Those players are "hurt" day in and day out by the FAILURE of OUR FANS to support them.  The constant boycotting of softball, wrestling, and swimming events has to stop.  It's evident that none of these players can perform without the fan support and WE are only HURTING them.  Recruiting in those sports is a disaster too!  /s

Yes, because recruits are not going to come to Michigan for the grand reason that the fans are so impassioned they organized a tiny demonstration and showed up late, to a single game.  That will surely dissuade them from committing more than Michigan's overall record, treatment of injured players, treatment of the fans, shift away from a historic culture to DB's RAWK culture, etc.  This is an utterly false and disingenious reason to support the team that is being heralded by the same adminstration that caused this disaster.  Exactly whose side are you on?  The establishment or the fans?  And don't think for a second that this "Student Body President" (who gives a single shit about University student government?  Go spend another five hours issuing a meaningless statement on the Israeli-Palestinian issue like usual and stop being Dave Brandon's lapdog).

Dave Brandon's human shields.  Because I'm sure the student athlete send-off was totally random and not influenced at all by the donation peddler extraordinaire.  More deflecting away from the horrid adminstration and onto the fans.  It's the fans' fault for not being strong enough Michigan fans, not the adminstration, coaches, and yes, to an extent, the players who have let Michigan football shrivel and rot from the inside out.

Can't even bring myself to care about the uniforms anymore.  Hell, it's not like anyone besides WD is going to buy jerseys during this tire fire of a season anyways.  We'll never have to see them again.  What IS the point of these travesties?  Honestly.  To get the players hyped up for the game because Hoke can't?  

He isn't going to be gone without massive student and alumni encouragement.  Look at the Regents' delaying their meeting.  They are trying to push this issue off the table in support of the "Michigan Men" at the helm of this sinking ship.  I suspect that they want to give Hoke another year and are happy with the performance of the rest of Michigan athletics.  Plus, Brandon has money pouring in from the big donors.  THAT is what the Regents care about.

True.  What would the easiest way to encourage fan support for Michigan football and bring the fans back?  A RESIGNATION.  TODAY.  But Dave Brandon would rather trot out student athletes for send-offs (when was the last time that happened) and guilt fans into not boycotting by using student athletes as human shields.

He's using the Support The Troops strategy and it's working.  If you don't support DB, you don't support Michigan!  You're not a REAL FAN.  Despicable behavior using students to prop his own job up.  Michigan is the laughing stock of the college sports world thanks to Dave Brandon.
