Makes sense...it is the students back on campus that is the variable I have worried about since football this fall was discussed. 50,000 students back on campus...party time.
Also makes sense for the climate. They can start later and play into winter if they have to without it being that terribly cold or snowy most likely. Will be interesting to see if there's a flu season bump. Summer didn't seem to lessen things, so fall and winter may not be bad (at least due to the weather alone).
From what I've gathered, it seems college students are more dangerous than young kids. Young kids are even less symptomatic and less likely to catch it.
So no ACC crossover games...now all 15 of the ACC schools have to go to the mid-major ranks for out of conference games.
Which they'll gladly do to get an 11th game, more money and another win.
They also have the option to cancel it.
ACC announced their full 11 game schedule this morning. They've added ND. Top two teams with conference winning percentage will play in Conf Championship.
Whatever, no season will happen anyways. I’ve given up all hope on it after the Marlins outbreak.
Agreed, man. No bubble equals no season.
Tragic that we're gonna miss out on the entire SEC playing Louisiana-Lafayette and Southern Miss this year
Those are their tough OOC games!
You missed Mercer, Abilene Christian, Alcorn State, Central Arkansas, SE Missouri State, East Tennessee State, Furman, Charleston Southern, Nicholls State, Eastern Illinois, UT-Martin, Alabama A&M and Wofford!
All these teams no longer appear on a 2020 SEC schedule. :-(
Thanks to all the heroic anti-mask crusaders who have saved us from a normal college football season
Kids are having parties with 700 people but it’s the guy at the grocery store without a mask. ?
It's both. I don't know why this is so hard to understand. Not taking risk mitigation strategies seriously spreads this virus.
So the SEC admitted that they really didn't play 12 games anyway.
In light of this I imagine the ACC will dropped the non conference game.
I would not be surprised to see all CFB games canceled/postponed that are scheduled before mid Sept currently. Too many variables in the covid situation and no one wants to stick their neck out if things go south.
How on earth will
Western Carolina, Samford, UT-MartinAbilene, Girl Scout Troop 12, Wofford, Alabama A&M, Troy, Louisiana Monroe, Abilene Christian, and East Tennessee State ever get their shot in week 12 and more importantly fund their annual budget?
I feel bad for Presbyterian - they lose their round robin with the SEC and their chance to win Sad Field Goal on opening week. That's a shame.
That would mean no Florida vs. Florida State. No Georgia vs. Georgia Tech. No Clemson vs South Carolina.
If college football actually got played this year, this would be big news.
So , every major conference is going to play conference games only.
ACC looks determined to keep "local" non conference games. Big 12 may end up doing the same. The real question is what will the G5 and non-ND independent schools do?
