RUMOR: Fields has a broken thumb and hasn't practiced this week
Again, this is a RUMOR. However, Fields did hurt his hand/wrist during the game, and could be seen grimacing several times throughout the day. Could be a massive development.

Word around OSU is that Fields will be held out all week and is wearing a splint on his left thumb. Will play though. But for how long ?

I know they’ve beaten Michigan teams that have been less than stellar and faced big injury issues, but I’d still rather beat them at full strength. At this point I’d take a win anyway we can

I don't care if it's true or not. It's just a nice change of pace to have the negative smoke coming from Ohio vs. the alternative.

If he actually hasn't been practicing it's more likely due that sack last real drive where he didn't get up and then left the field. Can't imagine a thumb would keep him away.

It was reported, here in the Columbus area, that the backup QB - Chuganov (sp?) - was practicing both Monday and Tuesday was the starters. This is a lot more real than most of us seem to think

Two things lead me to believe there is some credence.
#1. Vegas - Line dropping. It dropped too quick after a sound win for OSU vs PSU.
#2. If it was just a sprained thumb, you take splint off and you let him go to podium to dispel rumors. If in cast, you can't hide that. If he does have a limp, there is no way to hide that.
Now, he will play, I am convinced of that. Question is, how injured? Injured enough to effect play, or is it when game starts the adrenaline will carry him through.
I believe he is banged up, I am just convinced he will play.

nice rumor, maybe true. One thing I do know, no one gets their ankle twisted like he did and does not at least have a sprain.
The guy is hurt. Maybe the thumb news a deflection when real problem is bum leg! Or maybe both!
Dobbins having 36 carries has to have him a bit sore too.
I keep asking myself why OSU had 61 rushes and only 22 passes against Penn St. Something not right!!!
