I wrecked countless chubby co-eds and lonely, bookish GSIs without a letterman jacket to lean on, just my natural charm and an abundance of alcohol.
December 8th, 2011 at 8:23 PM ^
Since you're a guy (XY chromosome) that played a sport in which you hit a ball that may or may not be moving and you're alluding to having being sought after by jersey chasers, I can only guess you played baseball. Unless you're telling me that golfers and tennis players are getting all kinds of football/basketball athlete action. Is that what you're telling me? This would actually be an interesting piece of information.
What do I win?
December 8th, 2011 at 9:00 PM ^
Ha! Every sport has their own "personality" (football vaires due to roster size) but yes baseball is correct.

How so?
December 8th, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
I don't see the premise for this post. There hasn't been a recent uprorar on the board questioning the life of a former athlete nor did you mention a list of topics that you would wilingly answer.
In some thread posted within the last few days (don't remember exactly when), someone questioned about where the band stays on bowl trips and their experiences. Former members of the band replied and answered the questions that were asked, but they didn't post a thread saying "Q & A with a former band member." While people may see it more desireable to be a varsity athlete than a band member, my guess is that not too many people have ongoing questions that they would like answered from a former athlete (see the number of serious questions posted as a response for proof).

Maybe I missed it, but how does that make other athletes look bad?
December 8th, 2011 at 8:42 PM ^
While I believe that he is being sincere in saying that he is just trying to help out, I don't know why he didn't clarify that in the OP. Without reading his further comments, it just seemed like this was stating that he was a former athlete in almost a gloating manner. The more I read his responses, the less I feel that way, but I still think a list of topics that he was willing to respond to should have been provided.
The reason I said it was making former athletes look bad was because I felt that it was gloating, and they already get a bad (and often inacurrate) rep for smugness and lack of intelligence (to which degree depends on sport, of course).

I guess I'm under a different assumption... You'd be surprised that 95% of student-athletes are just like you; instead of internships or discussion in the afternoon, they go to practice. I loved my time at Michigan, but doesn't mean I wouldn't change a few things. There are a ton of things that should be changed via the NCAA to put a true meaning to the term "student-athlete."

There are 5 pirates who find 100 coins. They are all very smart pirates. The eldest pirate gets to come up with a plan of how to split the 100 coins. After he comes up with the plan, the pirates vote on it. If greater or equal to 50% of the pirates agree with the plan, the plan goes into action. If more than 50% vote no, they kill the elder pirate and the next eldest pirate comes up with a plan. what should the eldest pirate propose so that he gets the most coins and does not die? Remember all the pirates are really smart.
December 8th, 2011 at 8:25 PM ^
Easy.
The elder pirate should kill all the other pirates.
December 8th, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
Good answer, matey.
December 8th, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
Kill the youngest to increase the shares for the other pirates.
December 8th, 2011 at 8:41 PM ^
No these are nice pirates
December 8th, 2011 at 9:16 PM ^
If that's the case, then he can take all of the gold and not risk death.

Pirates cray
December 8th, 2011 at 8:34 PM ^
how about offer 33 to 2 of them.
December 8th, 2011 at 8:39 PM ^
Close but the oldest pirate is smarter than that and knows he can get more coins for himself
December 8th, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
Nevermind
December 8th, 2011 at 8:57 PM ^
Give 1 coin each to the 2 youngest pirates.
If the eldest pirate gets killed, then the next oldest pirate only needs 1 more pirate to vote on his side for the plan to pass, so all he would do is make some deal with the 3rd-oldest pirate to split the coins between them and screw the two youngest pirates. So since the death of the eldest pirate means 0 gold for the 2 youngest, all he has to do is give them a coin each and they will be better off agreeing with the plan.
December 8th, 2011 at 11:30 PM ^
Pretty much yup
December 8th, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
I'd give 26 to two of them (more than they'd expect next time) and keep the other 48 for myself.

I remember you, don't worry.
What's the mood of the team like heading into the bowl matchup? Is anybody out for the game? Will Woolfolk start as FS over T. Gordon? Why is Desmond Morgan the starting WILL over guys that are more athletic? How is the development of Q. Washington/R. Ash going?
December 8th, 2011 at 8:34 PM ^
I'm no longer in AA... but from what I remember, Washington is over Ash and Woolfolk will play somewhere... man is just a gamer.
