Playing 4 of the AP top 5 in 4 consecutive weeks

Submitted by UMdad on

I don't mean to look past OSU, but Michigan could play 4 of the top 5 teams in this weeks AP poll in the next 4 weeks.  OSU will be #2 when we play them, Wisconsin is currently 5, and would likely remain there even with an OSU loss.  Wins there would put us in the playoffs where we would likely face #3 Clemson, and then #1 Alabama.  Wow.

If this game was pre-CFP and pre-conference title games, we beat OSU and we get a date with Bama to win it all. Now we have to play what is likely the most difficult 4 game stretch in Michigan's history (with an injured starting QB) to win it all

To house the NC trophy, which, just think for a moment, of this, in Schembechler Hall.....would be impressive beyond my words to describe it.

And these are real NCs, big committee of people evaluating actual play and then literally every team has to face 3 of the best teams in increasing difficulty 1: conf champ game, 2: first round of NC and 3: NC game.

This OP can be said literally almost every year now unless of course osu drops off the radar in the coming years and/or the BigTen West gets that much worse.

Otherwise the playoff format actually and literally means that in order to win the NC, you will have to win your Conf Champ and then beat two teams in the Top 4.

Just sort of how it goes and it's GREAT to be in this position again!

HARBAUGH!

And.....Fuck Paul Finebaum and STOP listening to the SEC toadie.

I just want the W over OSU. Of course a national championship would be absolutely amazing. But I'm SICK AND FUCKING TIRED of losing to those bastards. No more "we'll get em next year" No more "the talent gap is just too much right now." No more "3,xxx days since you guys won! Hahaha" Fuck them. This is it. This is the start to the proverbial second coming of the Ten Year War. Fuck Urban. Fuck that stadium. Fuck those fans. Fuck scarlet and grey. Fuck "Hang on Sloopy", "script ohio" and the "douchiest band in the land". FUCK THE BUCKEYES.

Its more like 2 games, 6 week break, 2 games so not quite as daunting but yeah it involves beating a lot of good teams to win a national championship.

Forgotten in all of this is that Michigan beat 3 straight top 10 opponents at home back to back to back weeks. #10 Colorado, #8 Penn St, #7 Wisconsin.
