I have no evidence to back this opinion up, but I believe that if Michigan and OSU had been ranked #1 and #2 the way they were in 2006, viewership would have been over 20 million.

Wow that must be why the B1G makes so much money. Would be a damn shame if the conference did something one of the schools off.

Would also be just terrible if one of those schools demanded they get more money from making more money. Some of these other schools might suffer, and I know those schools care about everyone equally.

That's a lot of eyeballs, lots of commercials, lots of ad dollars...Harbaugh is spot on...Share that dough with the players, now! And not through some lame NIL BS.

Wild that it doubled up the Iron Bowl. I know Auburn stunk and Bama is below their usual levels, but this still feels like an emphatic reminder of what the Big rivalry in CFB was if there was ever a doubt

Let's all remember this when we hear talking heads on ESPN and Fox bemoan "fair play" and "safety of the players" nonsense - Pete Thamel, Rece Davis, etc. are all collecting paychecks in part because people wanted to see Michigan play OSU and they got to act high-and-mighty about it while still encouraging those eyeballs.  They never thought the scandal was anything beyond an outrage delivery mechanism that let them fill airtime.

Article compares them to Thanksgiving NFL games last week (which reach 35 million viewers), but this result is higher than the recent average for NFL game audiences (roughly 17 million)

The thing that neither side's fans want acknowledge is that Michigan and OSU are basically joint at the hip, like Texas and OU are. Both the OSU and Michigan brands profit from the association with each other. Both teams profit when both teams are good.
