OT: Weird Experiences

Submitted by MeanJoe07 on

Good afternoon team,

When I was just a little Koala I started having the same dream.  I'm walking threw a dim tunnel with only the sound of a water drop every few seconds and my feet shuffling through the dark water. At first it seems like a sewer, but then I realize it was clean and sterile. There is a different kind of smell.  It smelled like a metal shop or a blacksmith or welding. Down a bit there is a yellow light shining from an connecting tunnel.  I am absolutely terrified of this light. I'm icy cold and trembling as I continue toward the light. The fear is blinding and repulsive like it represents all the horrors in the world happening all at once. I always wake up before I get to it, but it takes me about 15 to 20 minutes for my brain to get right.

Last night, I was awake in my office brewing some spring aged balsamic and at arund 12:15  I suddenly felt off balance. It was like time had sputtered and the hearing went out in my right ear leaving that high pitched sound, but it didn't go away.  I smelled that same metallic smell only very faintly and my computer flashed a murky yellow for a split second. It so fast, but I saw it. My heart rate skyrocketed and then I woke up lying on the bathroom floor with the shower on. I went back to my office and the balsamic was there and it was 12:23.  Only a few minutes had past.

Has anyone else experienced a glitch in the matrix or a weird unexplained experience and wondered what happened?  I don't use substances during balsamic season to ensure high quality so it can't be that.  I don't know how to feel about this.

PS Marsupial Monday will be happening one of these days soon.

We live in a democracy where free expression is of paramount importance, but politics are off limits and taboo and shall never be discussed.  Boom - double think-ed.

I would give a a million upvotes if i could because that has been the last 3 years of my life to a T!  I have given up on ever being told the truth again (except by Brian of course).  The sad thing is that there aren't nearly enough people smart enough to grasp this concept.  Those same people then proceed to act like you are the unintelligent one.  It can be rather unnerving until you reach some like minded people!

think about some mis-definitions. The perfect one is "conspiracy."  Real definition - essentially "a collective idea amongst two or more people regarding or promoting action."  Double-think definition - "Any idea or concept not recognized as legitimate by the mass media."  Not only are these two definitions different but they bear no resemblance to each other.

Mind = blown.

in the fact that as of now, I'm able to shelter my life experience from most of the damage it causes.  However, I fear that this may not be the case in years to come.  I keep hoping for that big moment of exposure when the curtain is pulled back, yet I fear it would take something too cataclysmic to do the job.  Is that enough double think for ya?

Those who would call you a conspiracy theorist are either trying to keep something hidden or too scared to research whether they have been lied to all of their lives.

Have you ever had viral meningitis? It can cause scarring on the brain. As a result, I think you are having partial seizures. A Similar experience is going on with a co-worker right now.
I can recommend a neurologist if you'd like....

Co-worker would start breathing heavily, get a heavy out in her stomach with metallic taster in her mouth...would work her self through it usually. Once and a while has a full blown seizure.
Kind of scary when your body starts doing stuff that you can't control.
For the longest time she though it was anxiety. Was popping Xanax etc. She eventually had a big one and went to see a neurologist and before she could even describe the complex partial seizures he described them to a "T". Pretty crazy sh*t.

Yesterday, I was bored at work with not a lot to do.  It was one of those days you go to the end of the internet and back. Plus the board here was slow.  Somehow I ended up on a reddit thread... "Tell me your glitch in the Matrix story." I probably spent 2 hours in that thread just reading pretty entertaining stories.  Very Very creepy that you brought it up here today. Hopefully, you haven't hacked in my internet history. If so, I only look at those sites for the articles. I'm sleeping with the lights on tonight.

Here's the link if you're interested. Pretty good read

Sleep paralysis is the freakiest experience. When it happens, I seem to be somewhat conscious with eyes open but literally cannot move any part of my body. I try and try to move because I think someone is in the room attacking me or the room is caving in. I try to scream but nothing comes out. Eventually the paralysis begins to slowly fade. I start yelling my wife's name and hitting the bed. Then I'm awake. It has occurred a handful of times, although none recently. For me, I think it is linked to stress and lack of sleep. Apparently sleep paralysis is fairly common. It occurs before someone hits a deep sleep. Usually minutes after someone closes their eyes.

I have experienced this myself. I woke up and could not move. I try to speak and nothing would come out. I felt like something was holding me down and felt someone watching just beyond the door. I really freaked out, until I read about the phenomena and how common it is. Only experienced it once, though.

Every night for a week I've been having freaky sleepwalking episodes. I've had them pretty often over the last few years but most of the time its just me sitting up in bed in a half-waking state thinking there is someone in the room or that I am somewhere else entirely.

Two nights ago, I got up and ran out of the room.  Last night I jumped out of bed and ran to the door.  When I came to I was frantically trying to unlock and open the door to get out of my apartment before I realized it was all a dream.  Its embarassing and weird and takes me a few seconds to come down from it.

Not a joke. I think I might need to see a neurologist. I don't know if I should see my vet again. She's obsessed with weighing me and putting a thermometer up my butt. I'll take it in the mouth and under the toungue like normal thank you.

Shame on you all for thinking I'd be high while brewing balsamic.  I would never.  Only after. and before.  and okay during.  But this wasn't what caused my episode. I think I will see a doctor.  Glad I came here first.  I think its good to get the blog's advice before consulting a doctor.

is there anything more beautiful than a beautiful beautiful flamingo, flying across a beautiful sunset? and he's carrying a beautiful rose in his beak, and also he's carrying a very beautiful painting with his feet. and also, you're drunk.

from her up north birthday party several years ago.  Heading Eastbound on M-10 we neared a well defined storm for several miles, the girls chattering away as 9 year old girls do.  We reached the storm and the rain/hail/lightning were fairly intense, but easy to drive through at reduced speed.  Chatter chatter chatter.  We came out of the storm into intense sunlight, a thick mist coming off the highway, with the most dramatic rainbow I've ever seen rising directly in front of us.  Chatter chatter chatter.  We were getting noticeably closer and closer to the rainbow over the next 10 minutes or so when I pointed it out to the kids.  Chatter chatter chatter.  Finally, the right (south) side of the rainbow had landed/reflected off the wet hood of my car.  It appeared about 8 inches across and faded  just a bit as it rose into the sky.  It curved off to my left and seemed to terminate just on the other side of the highway.  I was raising my voice to the kids trying to point out the weirdness of what we were experiencing for the minute or two it lasted.  Nuthin... just chatter chatter chatter.
