Patricia is a disaster. The defense is somehow worse than it was last year. Quinn's decision not to address the defense in any serious manner just adds to the growing evidence that he is incompetent. His '17 draft looks really bad right about now and his OL signings have not been overwhelming.
Again, Patriots are good because of Belichick's singular genius and Tom Brady. Quinn and Patricia were hangers-on.

And Quinn won't use next year's presumably high draft pick to address the DL once again.

Lions starters have gotten wrecked in the pre-season. So that's encouraging. Looks like a 5-11 team.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:35 PM ^
Only the Lions could end a half like that. Well, maybe the Browns too
August 24th, 2018 at 10:41 PM ^
Browns seem like they have a lot of good pieces to make a playoff team. Just need competent coaching to put it all together for them
August 24th, 2018 at 10:40 PM ^
Jarrad Davis looks like a total bust. Can't cover and can't make WIDE OPEN tackles
August 24th, 2018 at 10:41 PM ^
At least Marty Mornhinweg never gave up a kick-six:(
August 25th, 2018 at 8:26 AM ^
No but Marty did choose to have the wind at his back in overtime instead of the ball.

Yeah it’s preseason, but at least the Lions know how to keep me laughing.
August 25th, 2018 at 2:47 AM ^
Their LOL game is in midseason form.

I thought it was fine to fire Caldwell. But when they hired Patricia I was wishing they didn’t fire Caldwell.

They got the wrong New England coordinator
August 25th, 2018 at 9:01 AM ^
I prefer no New England coordinators. None of them have ever succeeded more than a year or two

RUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDOCK

Holy shit...they won.

Ssshhh! Don’t tell Quattro or else he won’t have a reason to post on this blog. Honestly the only reason he posts here only has to do with the Lions playing on Sunday like he’s some kind of truth-speaker. When in all reality he’s a troll just waiting for them to fuck up. A miserable existence for sure. I lump him and his posts in with OSU and MSU trolls.
August 25th, 2018 at 1:28 AM ^
This ranks among the worst posts ever written on here.
The Lions starters have been awful for the first three games. The result tonight matters not.
I lump your post into the same class as OSU Meyer defenders. It’s that deluded.
I have 60 years of data. You have... nothing.
Sit down.

Hey I know it’s hard to grasp. But these games don’t matter and don’t indicate how good a team is going to be. You really think Patricia is showing anything on the defensive side of the ball. There’s a reason his defenses are always in the top 10 in points allowed
August 25th, 2018 at 11:55 AM ^
Yeah, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady running an offense that puts a ton of pressure on opposing offenses
August 25th, 2018 at 12:21 AM ^
Honestly Rudock looks pretty good just about every time he gets action. I don't hate on Stafford but that contract extension means the Lions can't trade him if they stink. Given the Cassel signing it wouldn't surprise me if they deal Jake since he has no shot at the job and might fetch an immediately useful return. Of course in that scenario he surely becomes Brady 2.0 and leaves Detroit fans wondering what could have been!
August 25th, 2018 at 10:31 AM ^
I don't like Stafford, nor do I think he is worth what he is being paid but most teams in the league would take him right now for whatever the league feels is market value. The rest of the league thinks they can fix him.
August 25th, 2018 at 11:57 AM ^
Don’t really understand criticism of Stafford. He’s borderline top 10 Qb in the league, but definitely top 15. And he’s never had a running game in his entire career. Plus he’s been on the Lions, which has been a dysfunctional franchise his entire career. He’s the least of reasons why we don’t win. He’s got a big contract but what else are you going to do? Let him go or trade him and risk not getting anything close to him in a trade, free agency or the draft. He’s the Lions best Qb since Bobby Layne.

This is a guy that multiple times could've left and been just as wealthy in any other city, and, shockingly, he and his wife chose to stay here because he appreciated the organization making him the No.1 pick and wanted to honor his commitment to turning it around.
He's a top 20 QB that actually wants to play for the Lions, that's pretty much all you can ask for at this point.
