OT-ish: McDooooooooooooooom #2

Former Michigan receiver Eddie McDoom has a younger brother at Winter Garden (FL) West Orange who's a top-100 recruit in the class of 2022. 247 Sports lists Matthew McDoom at 5'8" and 154 lbs., but I think he's bigger than that. Anyway, he's the #13 corner and #87 overall. Only Maryland and UCF have offered at this point. I don't know if Michigan will offer, considering Eddie's experience at Michigan was pretty uneventful.

Eddie played 2019 at USF and made 13 catches for 174 yards. He has one year left with a chance to be a starter, but it seems like his issues with drops have carried over to his USF career, too.

(Side note: Matthew is actually the third McDoom brother, but the oldest one didn't play football.)

sadly Eddie seemed like a fan favorite, but other than the obvious jet sweep, he never seemed to have a lot of productive play. I think you could say the same for a lot of the offense at that point sadly.

Interestingly enough, he led the team in rushing against MSU his freshman year.  And that offense was great!  First Michigan team to average over 40 points/game in 100+ years.

His sophomore year was definitely unproductive, though, both for him and the whole offense.

McDoom will also be an MSU fan favorite for dropping the ball during the monsoon game in 2017. Immortalized in that choking GIF.

Although it’s not all his fault the coaches live in an actual submarine when it comes to game time awareness.

The oldest brother skipped sports to focus on cartoonish villainy, carrying on the family tradition.

After McDooms's freshman year I was expecting big things for him. His 2nd year was a big let down, other teams knew about the jet sweeps and he seem like he could not get open and when he did he dropped passes. It is too bad he did not have a great career at Michigan, he had a great football last name.
