OT - 2016 #2 Overall Recruit Gregory Little Decommits from A&M

Submitted by alum96 on

...and with that the 0% crystal ball to Bama in May 2015 has turned to 57% (and climbing).

Insert bag men reference here.  Oh and Ole Miss is also apparently involved.

He stopped by Ole Miss June 8 and Alabama the following day. For what it's worth, 14 recruiting reporters have since predicted he will change his commitment to Alabama on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Little was named the offensive line MVP at The Opening after holding his own against a number of top defensive lineman, including Rashan Gary, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. Little is currently No. 2 on the list.

"I think it was a pretty fun matchup," Little said. "We're both two top guys and everybody hyped it up... It was a lot of fun playing against Rashan. Much love. Me and him talked before this. I have his number and he has my number so we talk about once a week to see how everything's going. Me and him and much respect for each other."

At 6-foot-5, 305 pounds, Little is ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports Composite. He also is atop the Dallas Morning News’ list of the Top 100 recruits in the class of 2016.  Little hopes to make a new decision on Nov. 4.

The only one getting personal and pounding their chest is you. Sorry I want the leaders and best to actually be that more than once every 50 years. I don't think that's unfair to ask.

Yep.  Those university presidents are known for their corruption.

You might want to look up and see who the "governing body" of the NCAA is, before saying silly things.

Unless you were just being sarcastic, in which case you got me.

You're operating under the assumption that it doesn't already happen here.

I'm convinced that the people who clamor about "SEC Bagmen" didn't actually read the article. You know, the one that said every major football program has them and that most higher ranked recruits won't step foot on campus unless they know they're going to get paid.

The only difference between north and south is that northern fans pretend like they're clean, southern fans don't care.

My evidence is that every Bama fan I know (quite a few) openly states that they are paying players, and, if they aren't, then there's something wrong. Whereas our fan base assumes most programs are clean, they assume all programs cheat. They just have a different mindset regarding the boosters paying of players than we do.

Bama cheats like some of the other SEC schools, I don't think they are clean, but mostly what draws recruits there is results....They win, every year...their fans are over the top...the energy at that stadium is probably un-matched....they have a lot of appealing factors.

I know nothing about recruiting and this kid is the #1 lineman in the country but he doesn't really standout much in a game.    The HS he attends, Allen HS,  has over 6,000 students and is basically a select football team for the best in the DFW area so he plays with a ton of D1 talent and so there is a lot to watch.   Plus he's probably one of these kids who will be 20 before his freshman year in college.    Redshirting in junior high is not uncommon in Texas.
