I actually think that is a tasty drink, but I would have only one or two on a hot day. Try Octoberfest and pumpkin ales, mate. They should be coming out very soon.

Red's, woodchuck, etc. are all terrible ciders.  Too sweet and thick.  For years I couldn't stand ciders because of this mass produced swill.

That said, like with craft brews, ciders are in the midst of their own renaissance.  You just need to find the right stuff.

Best cider I've ever had is by VanderMill (a Michigan cidery, actually).  They distribute three or four of their varieties in 16 oz. can 4 packs.  My favorite is Totally Roasted.  Blue Gold is awesome as well, especially being blueberry season.  Their stuff isn't overly sweet so you can drink more than one, and it has a solid ABV.  Highly recommended.

The last thing anyone should be drinking are those crap Ciders. You are surrounded by some of the best beers around and you go Cider???? I get it beer isn't super tasty at first and you want something sweet and sugary....fight through and in a week or two time Beer will taste amazing as your taste buds will adjust and you will be able to taste the differences in each beer.

Yes I am a beer snob and frankly struggle to choke down Miller, Bud, Coors Light when at a ball game.

I'm not a huge craft beer guy. Most taste the same at end because of the over abundance of hops. They just end with bitterness. My personal choice for readily available beers is any of the Leinenkugel, except the grapefruit shandy. Also, Oberon, Blue Moon. Any hefewizen, weiss, or kolsch style beer is much more drinkable. Just variants of wheat beers with more barley than hops.

You maybe trying too many IPA's. Try some Stouts or Porters. Look for ones with different flavors. Though Stouts and Porters tend to be much better in the winter time. I agree most IPA's end up with the same Hoppy blast at the end. I have found some really solid ones with just a suttle hop taste. Sweet Water makes a Pineapple IPA that is solid.

Also recommend going to a brewery and just getting a flight of beers to sample to see what kinds you enjoy.

Beer is such a wild game these days with so many different kinds out there. Also with so many that seem to taste much better in certain times of the year.

Good call recommending beer samples from a brewery. I love getting those. I also like the variety packs that some beer companies offer. That's the best way to discover new beer.

Not all craft beer ends with bitterness and most certainly do NOT taste the same. What tastes the same is the shit like Bud Light, Miller Lite, Labatt Blue, Coors Light...pretty much almost all of the top-ten beers sold in this country. They're cheaply made and taste like shit.

As someone pointed out, you're likely thinking of IPA, which is on the rage right now and has been for a few years. Most IPA has that bitter kick to it. IPA is also delicious beer (obviously not all). Souts and porters are so good and great for football season. They're definitely not warm weather beers (for me), although it's perfectly acceptable to drink them year-round, obviously.

I really like craft beers. Not a huge IPA fan. Mostly a lager guy I think. But Bud Light is my favorite beer. You can chug it. Drink it. Sip it. Whatever. It's refreshing. Nothing beats slamming half a can after mowing the lawn imo. And people who say a Bud, Miller, Coors, Labatt all taste the same are full of shit. That's like saying all bottled water tastes the same. Miller Lite tastes like cat pee. Labatt is a bolder taste. And you can definitely taste the different types of water Coors and Bud Lights are made with.

All of those top-ten beers taste extremely similar - like absolute crap.

If you're thinking of saying something like, "they're top-ten for a reason, because they're good beer," it's not because of their flavor. It's because they're cheap and have been in the industry far longer than most of these microbreweries. Craft beer, in the grand scheme of things, is still in its early days when comparing it to the larger companies like Budweiser and Miller. When this country starts to finally realize that those terrible beers are indeed terrible, the craft scene will be even more popular than it is now.

Not sure I agree. Most people who drink the Light Beers drink to get drunk and they go down super easy. You simply can't really pound craft brews like you can the Lights. Craft Beer has a solid home, but I have been getting the feeling they are kind of hitting their peak. Not saying they will go away just that they are running out of ideas.

This does not make sense to me. It sounds like you are saying craft beer does not get you drunk. I get drunk from craft beers and at the same time, taste something good instead of the shit the big companies are producing. Craft beers go down extremely easily because they taste good.

Why all the Labbatt hate? It definitely is not my favorite beer overall, but is my favorite "regular" beer. If there is an occasion where you know you plan on drinking for a long period of time, or are going to be active (i.e. softball or hockey) IPA's and stouts just don't work out too well.

Bell's is always good. Though being 21 it is hard to swing the cost. I would recommend Leinenkugel Shandy's if you want a light beer with some fruit flavor. Better than drinking Ciders.

Founders is good. I live in Cleveland and am oddly not such a big fan of Great Lakes, but it maybe to your liking. Not sure if you can find Fathead's beer up there, but it is solid. Again I am giving you craft brews, and they will take time to adjust because the flavor is stronger. If you are looking to get drunk start with a few decent craft beers to get the buzz and then down all the shitty Light beer you can(Bud, Coors, Yuengling etc.)

I also recommend some vodka, ginger beer and alittle lime(Moscow Mule) hits the spot on a warm day. Happy Birthday and just remember you don't have to be a drunk asshole....cool kids Drink good beer because it tastes good not because they want to puke it up later.

Way late to the party here. I understand you're new at this, and have a long way to go but try Wolverine Lager (a brewery in AA). It's better than the mass stuff IMO, & how could YOU say no to wolverine beer?

of Redd's Apple Ale:

Dont be...

....... "That Guy" !

On the other hand, if you are more the likes of this Kool-Aid Man, it's perfectly understandable if you wet your whistle with a Redd's while enjoying your favorite herbal substance.
