Now I feel like an ass,…

Now I feel like an ass, because of course they switch this year.

If you look at the seating…

If you look at the seating chart on SeatGeek, the East team is on the visitor side. The band will be over by the section 105 corner (can’t recall exactly which section the band is placed in), and that’s where the university allocated tickets will be. I have been going to championship game since its inception and since the East/West divisions, that’s how it’s been. Don’t think it would change but there’s probably a B1G specific map out there too you could double check.

Two tickets available. Our…

Two tickets available. Our friends had to dip last minute. Section 216. $200 each. Let me know. SOLD

My wife and I have had four…

My wife and I have had four tickets through Lucas Oil since the inception of the championship game. I am so filled with joy to finally be able to see our boys there after having to see my wife's Spartans there a couple times as well as so many Buckeye games. There's another Michigan fan in the same section who's been there since the start too. He's married to a Buckeye. Ready to give that man a high five.

Remember when Mitch McGary…

Remember when Mitch McGary took very a direct and obvious groin punch from Elijah Johnson... Then he dominated the rest of the game I believe. Dong punches only make Michigan players stronger I guess.

I'm still waiting for the…

I'm still waiting for the refs to do a 180 and call every ticky tacky foul putting Hunter in early foul trouble and preventing the offense from getting in rhythm. These games have been fun to watch because the refs have let them play, especially under the basket. When every shot has a blocking foul attached to it this sport become unbearable.

I hate that our only option…

I hate that our only option is to expand the playoffs. There's too much money in college football at this point and corporate greed had sunken it's teeth too deep.

In my dream world we go back to multiple polls declaring their own national champions. Why the hell do we need a definitive national champion in college football? I completely see UCFs claim as valid a few years ago. College football should not be NFL Lite. Unabashed homerism, school pride, followed up with conference pride should reign supreme. As long as we can be polite and lighthearted about it.

The big bowls should be a reward for conference champions and serve as one last opportunity to stake your claim for one of those (or maybe the unanimous) poll national championship against a strong OOC opponent. Lesser bowls should be driven by interesting story lines and OOC matchups we rarely get to see. I would find it hilarious to see a Texas vs Michigan bowl this year or last just for the who's been the biggest disappointing "powerhouse" story line.

If only the NFL could be forced to have their own version of the G League. Then maybe we could have college sports truly be about amateur sports. The number one factor for any college athlete's school decision should be the education they will receive followed up by whether or not they grew up a fan of the team. I don't blame kids who are sitting out bowl games or even this entire season to focus on their NFL prep, it's the wise thing to do for their future. I hate that that is even a valid concern. If college football wasn't NFL prep academy, maybe we'd see a few diamond in the rough seniors sit out because they worked themselves into a NFL caliber player.

At this point I'm just kind of rambling and feel like an old man shaking my fist at the clouds. I admittedly never paid attention to sports growing up and was just a defacto Michigan fan from living in the state. It just wasn't a thing in my household. It wasn't until the end of the Carr era that I started watching sports, and this semester I'll be a UofM alum. Maybe some of the older crowd here can chime in and tell me how bad the poll system actually was and why a definitive champion is needed. And again, I'm completely aware this will never happen.

I stop at Good Time Charley's once a week for the Jaybird.  One of the best bacon egg burgers I have had since moving out of Holland and no longer being able to go to Goog's.  Waffle fries are always good.

Instead of scoreboards can they add speakers along the boxes? That way they don't have to crank the current ones to 11 to fill the stadium with rawk music and make the people close to the end zone deaf in the process. The music also sounds like shit at those levels.

In Indy, at the RAM. Keeping it simple with their Hefeweizen and some Captain and Cokes.

The best is when the ref has…

The best is when the ref has to pull him aside to warn him, then he just takes that and lights up the court. THEN he keeps running his mouth and finally coach has to have an aside with him, to only have him make more great plays. He and Iggy were exchanging laughs through it all.

Yep, the Spartan wife and I…

Yep, the Spartan wife and I have gone every year. We have four tickets that we renew through Lucas Oil, so we take two other people with us each year.  I've had to see my wife's team there several times. I was SOOO excited to finally see our boys.

I know there's at least one guy in front of my who had it worse, he's there every year and his wife's a Buckeye.

At the very least it's a fun weekend of bar hopping.

They need to move the…

They need to move the facilities operations to NCRC already. Then the Athletics department can take those buildings, bulldoze them, and create a tailgating oasis.

Chrysler parts We actually make parts for, I think Jeep but could be Chrysler, and they still have the old Diamond-Chrysler logo on them. In fact we've had to work the past couple Saturdays because of the high orders for those parts. Just yesterday I was thinking who's buying all these? Now I suppose they could be ramping up orders for service parts.
"This year the Big Ten "This year the Big Ten championship will be held in the great country of Chile. This is an expanding market for our great conference." - Jim Delaney
Gone every year The wife and I have gone every year. Indy is a VERY nice setup. Think of it as a larger Grand Rapids if you've been there. I think Detroit would be just slightly worse. Can't comment on any other domes. The B1G would never do it, but obviously Chicago gives the best located big city location. I'm ok with freezing.
Other McCraffey news http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2017/01/11/pacific-pro-footbal… More about the younger brother, Luke. Doubt the league will take off though.
My take

My thoughts kind of echo those of others here.  I went for the Bama game and the MSU bowl game.  The stadium is somewhat neat, but any relatively new pro stadium is pretty much interchangeable with any other.

Opening weekend is HOTTTT.  Tailgating is just not worth it and there isn't a whole lot within walking distance to do before the game.  The hour long line to get through security pressed up against 100s of other sweaty stinky people was not fun either.  For the UofM game we had upper deck seats in the corner and just spent the whole game watching the screen.  I mean I love technology, but a big ass tv is only interesting for so long.  For the MSU game we had club seats and that viewing expierence was obviously much better.  So, go for lower bowl.

With all that said I'll probably be going because we have Michigan Alum freinds in Dallas we don't get to see, and I love to be at games cheering on our boys.  (Don't get me started on the shitty showing of fans we had at Miami this year)

There's only so many bs There's only so many bs classes that will actually count for your degree though. What's to stop an athlete from just taking all the level 100 classes for four years right now? What are the requirements for an athletic scholarship?
Restaurants and sights. We were able to get round trip from Grand Rapids to Orlando for the two of us, $800 total. Leaving Thursday return Sunday. I was planning on hopefully starting a thread at a later date but it would make sense to just ask here. Any Miami residents or frequent travelers have suggestions on non-chain restaurants and sights to visit? Want to try some authentic Cuban food for one thing.
Championship tickets Would anyone care to ask the AD how they will handle championship tickets? Would buyers of first round tickets get priority? I wouldn't think so, but never know. I'd rather skip the first round and just buy championship tickets.
Gone every year

We get 4 tickets through Lucas Oil every year.  Normally take a couple friends with, but don't know if anyone will want to go this year.  Don't know why.  So I'll probably have a couple tickets available for sale by mid November.

Birthday present My wife was going to buy that for my birthday present this month. Was bummed to see they are sold out. I have the same armpit digging with the t-shirts as other people do, but I'm also just used to wearing sleeveless tanks while working in the factory during the summer. With that said I love my dri-fit shirts. I also wish my wife had bought me a much larger jersey. These Nike ones fit just like a regular shirt, so no way I'm getting my large over a sweatshirt for these late season games.
I know you used to be able to I know you used to be able to get HDMI splitters that would just break the HDCP encryption and then you could just use any capture card to capture off your DVR. I've been meaning to do the same, but I don't know of any guaranteed piece of hardware that will break encryption.
Rain It's been raining pretty good the past 24 hours here in West Michigan, so using highly advanced scientific reasoning, the sky will be low on its falling water reserves tomorrow.
The hit on Gary When our own player hit Gary head to head and took off the helmet I sharply inhaled and held my breath for an eternity...
Want to go back to sleep. Just about to head out the door for another 12 hour day at work. All I want to do is go back to bed so Saturday morning will be here when I went up!
Stupid mandatory Saturday

To try and get out of having to work next Saturday (not that I would anyways) my company is making everyone work tomorrow.  People are going to have to deal with me being cranky, because I am at least watching until half time.  Very liitle sleep for me tonight.

Along the line of Staee

Either our rival doesn't know how to sit in a car, or they can do strange things with their arms.

My arm is backwards

Always I always get an ice cream cookie sandwich. Even in November. It's annoying that there's only one vendor cart, as far as I know. Staee had a whole bunch of them.
My personal tastes I'm not a huge craft beer guy. Most taste the same at end because of the over abundance of hops. They just end with bitterness. My personal choice for readily available beers is any of the Leinenkugel, except the grapefruit shandy. Also, Oberon, Blue Moon. Any hefewizen, weiss, or kolsch style beer is much more drinkable. Just variants of wheat beers with more barley than hops.
Three eyed Raven Is he just older Bran? Didn't he say something like "you must become me."
Will crush a foot

Had a coworker who was standing too close to a forklift and driver went right over her foot.  Completely crushed it.  She was bedridden for a couple months.  She still doesn't walk normal.  My guess is this was more of a motorized pallete jack or there'd be no question about damage.

Training now Just threw 100 hotdogs on the grill. Need that full ride scholarship.
Yeah, they can be sports It's easy to say video games aren't a sport because it's not an activity that makes you physically fit. But the mental challenge, "endurance," and team coordination some games require to compete at the top level are high. Anything you can make into a competition is a sport in my mind.
My addition I'll add that The Victor's is a simplistic and uncreative fight song. It gets annoying hearing it over a dozen times in a game. Sparty's fight song is better and the fans there are much more energetic when it comes time to sing it.
I don't understand I guess I just don't see the point in a financial advisor and all the investing with this amount of money. With $800 million after taxes I'm not really worried about keeping up with inflation. All the people in the world can ask me for money if they want to, all I have to do is say no, and I would. Throw 20 million or so into some sort of annually limited withdraw account, maybe buy a few million in gold bricks to keep in a safe in case the US economy collapses, and then just park the rest across standard checking accounts across a few institutions and live a modest and comfortable life.
Work out the timing I say keep the video but work on the communication on when to start it. We should see the team in the locker room, the hype video, and just as the video ends the team should either be at the tunnel entrance waiting to run out OR we should see them walking from the locker room with Seven Nation playing. This year they would start Seven Nation with the team still in the locker room and the crowd got pumped and then it died down as we just sat there waiting..
Get rid of rankings Here's the thing, if you go from the computers of the BCS era to a committee for the playoff era then go all in. Make the eye test, which is a humans advantage over a computer, the number one criteria. I can't speak for other teams but MSU had maybe a game or two total this season where they looked like a playoff caliber team. Even with their record and winning the Big Ten they should not have been in the playoff. A committee should have seen OSU or possibly Iowa as the best fit, but people would bite their heads off for selecting them. The basketball committee can get away with a few head scratchers because of the size of their tournament. I don't want to see the football tournament expand beyond six teams, so I say don't release official rankings during the season. Just do the playoff matchups at the end. As well as stating up front that the eye test is most important, with sos, and margin of victory following.
Will be in Dallas Going to the Cotton Bowl, so I'll be in Dallas. Quick search brought me to this thread:http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-michigan-friendly-bars-dallas Can any Dallas area residents comment on if the Fox and Hound is still the place to go?
First year season ticket holder. I was surprised to even get tickets, being a first year season ticket holder and Jimmy's first bowl game as our coach. Now I have to try and unload them because MSU jumped to three. I told the wife we'd go to which ever game was the bigger bowl but if they had gone to the Orange we could have done both... Hope not too many people wait until the last moment.
No Texas bowl tie-in? The B1G doesn't have any sort of tie-in with a bowl in Texas right? Now that our season is over my wife expects me to root with her for her Spartans. If they win they most likely jump to 2 or 3 putting them in the Cotton. I'll root for them to be at 4 and us getting the citrus so I can make a week out of being in Miami and Orlando.
I agree with all that Yost. I I agree with all that Yost. I mean, how long have we had the stupid "You suck" cheer. A cheer more about taunting our opponent than praising our team. And when we're losing but still use it, we look like morons. Of course these classless acts by fanbases and players lead to anger and anger leads to hatred, as master Yoda says. The hatred is what makes rivalries so incredibly intense and a win so sweet. We just all have to temper our emotions and keep perspective.
I'm ready to see Pepper's I'm ready to see Pepper's 10yd reception with an additional 50 YAC to put us up 35-10 with 1:50 on the clock. But, I'm not thinking about the game too much...
