Michigan Softball on to Semis

Tough pitchers' duel ends with a Blair walk-off home run in the bottom of the 8th. Some baserunning miscues took Michigan out of a couple of innings, but the both pitchers were stellar and the defense its usual steady self (one silly error).

On to face Wisconsin. Go Bule!

Better wake up early tomorrow Old Dad

Due to threat of severe weather Saturday, there will be a revised schedule for Saturday's #B1GSoftball Tournament games (all on @BigTenNetwork): 9 am (ET) - @umichsoftball v @BadgerSoftball (Semifinal 1) 35 min after - Semifinal 2 35 min after Semifinal 2 - Championship Game

Wish I could be there.  Go Blue!!

Go blue. Best Wisconsin tomorrow then get the B1G tourney title I Sunday. That should secure a home field for regionals

It's been this way for the Big Ten the last few years.

Summary: Minnesota, ranked first at the time and 11th in the RPI a couple of years ago, did not host a regional. In fact, had they won a regional (they lost), they would have had to travel to #2 Florida for the Super-regional.

Strength of schedule drags the conference down - it's a huge problem and Michigan not facing Minnesota or Northwestern in a single game until (potentially) tomorrow just doesn't go unnoticed. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think winning the tournament is enough. Maybe for Minnesota it would be this year, but I'm not sure.

This will continue until the league starts ensuring that the top teams play each other during the regular season.

As long as we can score a few more runs tomorrow I like our chances, as we've been getting consistently good pitching from not just Beaubien, but also from Storako over the last several weeks.

There's not another team in the B1G that has such a great 1-2 punch on the mound.

8-3 for the final score in the semi-final.  Minnesota and Northwestern take the field at 12:10 with Michigan to play the winner for the championship 30-35 minutes after the game is over.

Go Blue!!
