About Don Brown's system quite yet, but I'm not really sold yet either. I can't say I'm a big fan of Hill and Thomas being in man coverage on slot receivers. Hopefully when Jordan Lewis comes back it alleviates that current weakness of Michigan's defense. With that being said, I'm not too sure that there are many teams outside of OSU and maybe Penn State that can really take advantage of this going forward at this point.

I think the defense will be fine against IU and OSU - remember that Lewis comes back, which gives us 3 corners and Peppers against thier slots and whatever downfield threat they might have.  I think this will be a very different back end when Lewis finally lines up.

I do have a couple of nits about the writeup, though.  1) I don't think that saying Morris has a "history of concussions" is right.  Yes, he had one two years ago.  That's it, so far as I know.  But saying 'history' leads one to believe he's had a few...  2) The author mentioned that Peppers is a liability in pass defense, which is why he was moved from DB to LB.  This is simply not true.  He was moved to LB to make better use of his freakish athleticism and football smarts.  He's okay in coverage, but only okay - he won't be confused for Woodson anytime soon.  That said, if he were allowed to play as a safety full time I think he'd be one of the best in football by the end of the season.  The kid is unreal...

I don't see that happening.  Lewis will blanket your top reciever, whoever and wherever he is.  You can count that player out of your offense.  That will leave two corners and a good cover safety (Hill) available for the other routes.  Peppers will get some zone duties in certain situations, but will not be asked to cover anyone in particular.

But otherwise, I'll agree that I don't want to see Peppers be responsible to man up anyone all day.  He's too dynamic for that...

I figured this would be a week for him to interject some snark to feed the Buckeye mouthbreathers that he has to appeal to, but other than the Shane Morris comment, he didn't really do it.

He kept it pretty neutral.

Compliment on Peppers:

Despite his difficulty in pass coverage beyond the line of scrimmage in this game, I don't know if there is anybody better at defending passes behind the line of scrimmage than Peppers. If you want a screen to die a bloody death, throw it towards his side of the field.
