Jon Jansen: Charbonnet hasn't had surgery and Jansen expects him to play Saturday

No link unfortunately. This is the sparknotes of Jansen on a Sirius Radio show earlier tonight. There are references to it on 247 and the Twittersphere. I tried to find a good Twitter link but my skills there are lacking and all I could find was random users and no one verified.

It's much better mentally if we prepare that it isn't true and buckle down for the next 3-6 weeks. That way if it is true, we'll all be elatedly surprised.

The psyche of a Michigan football fan must be preserved.

Elatedly surprised? Even if he comes back healthy, someone else will go down. In fact, for every bit of good news, there will always be three bits of bad news. It's a proven fact.

My advice (as if anyone cares what I think, lol): never forget that life doesn't matter. Win or lose, we're all circling the drain. Unless you commit some heinous act like genocide, your name will be forgotten within three generations. The world will go on no differently than if you'd never existed at all. Only when you accept this undeniable fact will you truly feel free.

Sort of.

As long as we're getting way too real for a football blog, I'll say that I've seen it really mess up a person I cared a lot about when she stopped using it. Apparently that's not unheard of, but I had never heard of it before - so yeah, just putting that out there in case it is helpful for anyone.

Yeah. Jansen said he saw ZC yesterday walking normally.  Unfortunately, it's pretty normal to get scoped with partial meniscectomy or meniscal debridement and walk normally the same day. With this much smoke there's almost always fire. Will be very shocked if this is all nothing.

“Normal”, not really.  The wound/knee naturally swells from the intrusion and from the influx of saline to clear the “trimming.”  Normal is 2-3 days of crutches, then improvement.  But even then walking is not “normal.”

Just had my meniscus trimmed, so I’ve researched “normal” and my old body reaction (athletic 52 yrs old) which was 1.5 x over what is expected for younger folks.
