Jim Harbaugh is a Hero - Follow-Up

Submitted by The Mad Hatter on

Just a follow-up piece.  Apparently the victim didn't know who was helping her until later when a state cop told her that it was Jim Harbaugh, football coach extraordinaire and part-time EMT, who came to her rescue.

Sounds like the accident was pretty bad, so kudos to JH for stopping to help.

Urban never had a heart issue- he went to the ER with chest pains that ended up being esophageal spasms due to acid reflux. Although, given that, he still should not being eating pizza as it's known to cause heartburn and reflux in those such aflicted.

Meyer bad. I believe he desires to do evil things. He'd probably pluck the dentures off a grandma just to melt a counterfeit ivory bar so he could fraudulently hock it in the illegal poaching markets while making up stories about imagined African safaris. What a tool.

and tried to line up some sponsorship deals:  the Kraft Macaroni Accident Site, the Arby Curly Fries EMTs, and the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Good Samaritan.  If the victims started complaining that he wasn't providing any actual assistance, he would've told them to find another passerby.

Sounds pretty much like the state of the Michigan football program when Harbaugh came to the rescue. "They said we ended up back on our wheels, but there were no wheels on the car at that point," she said. "I was upside down out of the window. I was out of the car past my hips, probably to my upper thighs."

You know what I like about good people?  They do good things because they're good, not because it might eventually become a photo op.

It's nice that our HC is a good guy, but what's more important is that two people in trouble got help when they needed it.

That was actually a really refreshing mention by Ablauf of this. It was a two sentence blurb buried. No bullshit bragging or whatever. This is just what a good person does.

Brandon probably would have tried to film a commercial at the crash site.

Guys, I know this is going to sound like I'm blowing my horn, sobeit. It's just such an uncanny coincidence I thought I had to share. Back in about 1981 when I was a student I was working for the Ann Arbor Inn (no longer in business) driving flight crews to and from Metro. I was returning empty one morning and just about at the exact same place as this accident -- Westbound near State Street -- a woman wiped out right in front of me, T-boned the median and, fortunately, slid to a stop. I pulled over to help. I ended up moving her car so that it wasn't in traffic and then I gave her a ride into town. It's wierd how you take a moment to take in the situation and decide if you should help or not.
