Yeah, but Michigan was pretty lousy in '68. '69 was Bo's first year and we went into Ohio Stadium upsetting the NC favorites. Michigan basketball was better then OSU last year, has almost the same roster, but had a subpar year this year. OSU is not a NC favorite (albeit a good team), and isn't eve the number 1 seed in the B10 tournament.

NO. In several words: Only if a win today marked the start of a multiple-decade long Beilein era which restored (erm, created?) everlasting glory for the U-M basketball program while beginning a grudge match between Beilein and his former mentor. Also this OSU team would have to be compared favorably to the Lakers or Cavs.

Not at all, OSU doesn't have the "best team ever" and isn't relying on winning this game to win a NC. In fact, if OSU loses today, I doubt they would really care that much.

Just to echo everyone else, no, no, and no again. Did you forget that we actually played OSU tough on the road earlier this year (with Evan Turner), and beat them once (without Turner)? Seriously, it would be a bigger upset if we beat Wisconsin or MSU in this tourney than it would be if we beat OSU. Add to that what everyone else is saying, and it's not even close.

Why does everything have to be bigger and better than it was in past years. I'm not tring to be an ass or anything, but everytime I see games or teams of any kind it's this is bigger than this or this is the greatest team ever I don't get it.Like I said not tring to be an ass just a question.

Actually, in terms of how much better OSU is than Michigan, probably yes. However, the 1969 OSU win was the seminole win for Michigan football in the past 60+ years. I really believe much of Michigan's success since 1969 stemmed in some way from that win. Besides, people thought the 1969 OSU team could beat NFL teams.

I know they didn't have their best player and all, but we have already beaten this team this year... I don't think "nobody on here thinks we have a chance" is accurate. Hell I am leaving work for an extended March lunch in a few.

Yes this would be a huge win and one of the biggest in the history of the basketball team. But to put it on par with the '69 football win over OSU, not even close.

NO Not even close It wouldnt even be the biggest upset of Beilein's career at Michigan (i vote Duke last year, w/o it there is no tourney bid. And, its Duke), so its not even in the team photo with 1969 football win.

But now posting ridiculous questions with it is really crossing the line. I am this -> - close to firing off an email to Brian demanding a name change for you.
