No, not at all. The '69 OSU team was widely regarded as the best team in the country and, according to Woody, his best team ever.

SI also said the only game worth watching all of the 1969 season was OSU practice on Thursdays, when the offense and defense held their weekly scrimmage

I realize that, but OSU and Michigan's winning percentage were much closer in 1969. They were both playing to make it into the Rose bowl. In basketball Michigan is a long shot for the NIT and OSU is playing for a #1 seed.

Yeah, but Michigan was pretty lousy in '68. '69 was Bo's first year and we went into Ohio Stadium upsetting the NC favorites.
Michigan basketball was better then OSU last year, has almost the same roster, but had a subpar year this year. OSU is not a NC favorite (albeit a good team), and isn't eve the number 1 seed in the B10 tournament.

Michigan was not pretty lousy in '69. The team went to the Rose Bowl, how in the hell do you consider that lousy? Also wasn't the '69 game played in Ann Arbor?

You are still wrong, unfortunately. The 1968 team was 8-1 (6-0 in the Big Ten) ranked #4 in the country going into the OSU game, they were hardly lousy

all games in odd-numbered years are in Ann Arbor since at least around the end of WWII.
'68 team wasn't lousy. It was 8-1 going into the OSU game.
Nonetheless, a win today would not be anything near the upset the '69 game was. OSU's team was being called the "team of the century" by some at the time.

but it wasn't because the team didn't have any talent; Bo won with Elliot's guys in '69, fwiw; many of them went on to be All-Big Ten and beyond.
What does the little "1" next to Ohio State mean on the B10 Tournament bracket?? I'm no bracketologist, but i'm almost sure that means we are the 1 seed for the tournament...

In several words: Only if a win today marked the start of a multiple-decade long Beilein era which restored (erm, created?) everlasting glory for the U-M basketball program while beginning a grudge match between Beilein and his former mentor. Also this OSU team would have to be compared favorably to the Lakers or Cavs.

Not at all, OSU doesn't have the "best team ever" and isn't relying on winning this game to win a NC. In fact, if OSU loses today, I doubt they would really care that much.

Just to echo everyone else, no, no, and no again.
Did you forget that we actually played OSU tough on the road earlier this year (with Evan Turner), and beat them once (without Turner)? Seriously, it would be a bigger upset if we beat Wisconsin or MSU in this tourney than it would be if we beat OSU.
Add to that what everyone else is saying, and it's not even close.

Actually, in terms of how much better OSU is than Michigan, probably yes.
However, the 1969 OSU win was the seminole win for Michigan football in the past 60+ years. I really believe much of Michigan's success since 1969 stemmed in some way from that win. Besides, people thought the 1969 OSU team could beat NFL teams.
