Not super highly rated so far. Same school as 2021 OG target Drew Kendall.
Gotta help in securing Drew's commitment. But,does he take Kobe King slot?
I think Kobe is trending to PSU anyway. More curious if this affects pursuit of any other LB targets. Michigan is really high on Junior Colson, Jaylon Hood, Tyler McLaurin, Dallas Turner, and Jamari Buddin (Viper).
Why is he trending to Penn State? How have we arrived at a point where we can't lock up a 3 star from Cass Tech???
Probably because his twin brother, a 4 star from Cass Tech, is trending to Penn St. ;-)
Unlikely it affects Kobe King or any other LB. This guy is almost definitely a FB
The fullback position is pretty irrelevant.
So is "Touch the Banner".
I mean Ohio State touches banners. Usually ones that say Big 10 title and National Playoff Runner up.
LOL let's see your contribution jackass. Probably never done anything meaningful in your whole life.
Edit: @UPMichigan
Well since you've asked, I've been granted 5 U.S. patents, served in the military for 8 years, started a successful company that now generates over $50M a year in revenue making equipment for the medical industry. Right now I'm within weeks of delivering a half a dozen filling machines to medical diagnostic companies that will allow them to produce 20k COVID-19 testing kits per hour. But enough about me.
And yet … here you are.
For such an important and awesome guy, it seems weird that you would hang around a message board and insult other people for no reason.
You should probably be somewhere being important right now.
People that sling unnecessary insults are usually self conscious and insecure people. Successful people who put others first don't do things like that, so we know his second post is bullshit. Just look at his posting history, it speaks for itself.
+1 for actually answering the question. Lol
But did you go to Hopkins? It’s important.
Guess I'll just shut it down, then.
Mgrowold and you both seem like terrible human beings. You both work in the field of “medical devices”. Remind me to never become friends with anyone in that industry, For some odd reasons you guys think better of yourselves. Maybe it’s a coincidence, but it seems to be a pattern.
To your knowledge, is this guy being recruited strictly as a LB, then?
Well, either Michigan knows information that literally no other major power 5 program knows about these New England recruits, or these are just two bad commitments taken. Time will tell.
Gattis packages may contain that position...I hope so. He isn't really all that athletic to me and blking back might be his ticket.
I feel like we brought the FB back last year halfway through the season when Harbaugh realized Gattis was in over his head and they needed to tweak the system. And it worked. So maybe fullback isn't so irrelevant after all.
Looks like a Fullback.
Would be a great pickup if we still used them.
He's a 3-star, the #40 ILB, and #998 overall.
Magnus, I know you’ll put up a more detailed scouting report on TTB, but what do you think of him?
I finished my post on him here (LINK).
Man, your analysis on this guy isn't very encouraging. Why are we taking these players? Are we in such a bad position with LB's that are clearly better? Sigh...just frustrating that these players, although fine young men for sure, aren't gonna get us winning games we haven't been able to win the last 5 years.
Not gonna lie, having played football in Massachusetts, I hate the Northeast recruiting focus. Football there is simply not the same as the South and Midwest.
Or California.
Or Texas.
Agreed!
100%. I can’t for the life of me understand Harbaughs obsession with New England players!! That recruiting strategy is not going to beat Ohio State. It’s baffling
I'm starting to get leery about taking so many Northeast kids every year
It feels like the coaches don’t want to venture out of their comfort zone much anymore for recruits.
Don Brown is quarantined there, so it's easy pickings.
Jim doesnt go on months long satellite camp tours anymore. He doesnt climb trees. He doesnt have sleepovers with recruits. He doesnt go overseas with his team. Spring games are practices. This is now a boring program with boring recruiting.
He didn’t go overseas this year because of the coronavirus, genius.
And when they were going overseas, the UNACCEPTABLES were complaining that such trips distracted from player development somehow.
Umm how’s he supposed to do any of that when 3/4 of the globe and country are on lockdown?
I get that he’s been more mellow since 2016 and the team just has been dysfunctional.
Michigan is dominated NE football recruiting.
Great news! Welcome to the family, Casey. GO BLUE!
He has offers from Army, Georgetown, umass, princeton, penn, and yale. How are we going to beat ohio state with someone with that offer list? Losing Partridge and Campanile and not replacing them is going to hurt.
It sucks to shit on a kid’s hello post. I'm sure he’s so happy to be coming to Michigan and I hope he does great.
With that said, it feels like we’re becoming another BC type program, rather than a legit top tier’ish program. If that’s how it’s going to be, I’ll still be a fan, but I’m going to recalibrate my expectations.
Michigan has had the #1 or #2 recruiting class in the B1G for 4 of the last 5 years. In that fifth year they were #3.
If being behind OSU but ahead of PSU is your equivalent of BC, you're an insane person.
But you're not, and yours is just a drama post.
I'm happy for this kid, and trust the coaching staff. I'm also a bit disappointed with where the 2021 class is right now - emphasis on right now. It could still be an excellent class. All these things can be true. But BC? Come on with this shit.
Are you intellectually dishonest or do you genuinely not understand that Michigan’s recruiting class rankings are being drive more by numbers than quality?
In the year we were number #1, how many top 100 recruits did we have? How many did OSU have?
This kid is a perfect fit for BC. He wouldn’t make the practice team at OSU.
I'm not comparing Michigan to OSU and saying Michigan is as good. Strawman on your part, Mr. Intellectually Dishonest.
Class rankings are what they are, and Michigan is ahead of PSU and behind OSU.
You are comparing Michigan to Boston College, which is just insane or asinine on its face. You're neither so I attribute it to drama. That special little snowflake drama that some devolve into, which inevitably involves putting others down in an attempt to make themselves feel better.
Yes, trust the coaches who brought us from suck to mediocrity. The new standard at Michigan.
Much better than mediocre. In terms of SP+ rankings, top 10 program. In terms of AP rankings, top 15. I'd like to see it better, but mediocre is inaccurate (and more drama).
I'm glad you recognize the improvement from the RichRod/Hoke eras, the worst in Michigan history. To come from that to top 10/15, I'm very happy. Getting to Top 5 will be much more difficult. There is some doubt now with Harbaugh that we'll get there, but even if we don't, I can handle my life having a top 10/15 football program without being a miserable prick about it. I'm a functioning adult.
Good for you cupcake. Some of us actually remember when leaders and best meant something. SOme of us remember when beating OSU and winning the big ten was the expectation and the norm. If the rich rod and Hoke years softened you up to the point your expectations are measured on an sp+ spreadsheet then good for you, but don't get mad at the rest of us who expect to have a program that competes with OSU.
I don't read Maizen / Shawn L. Martin comments, so I don't even know what this says.
But I just want to point out to TuffBammBamm (assuming he's not an OSU troll) and JPC (who I know is just a hurting/drama Michigan fan) that you have put yourself squarely on the side of a lunatic like this. Someone so obsessed, with priorities so out of balance, he reacts like this.
Come back to functioning adulthood guys, we're all going to be OK watching a 9-3 football team, with some years being better and some being worse. And there is a chance that Harbaugh gets it even better than that.
Harbaugh has been here 5 years and has never lost less than 3 games in a season. So no, it's not going to get better. Not when you take commits like Guidice and this kid. Wake the fuck up and stop bitching about how you are so much more mature than everyone because you are ok with 9-3. Um isn't paying Harbaugh 8 mil a year to get his teeth kicked in against OSU every year. Guy has the best job in the world, never meet expectations and then losers like you come on the internet and defend it. Pitiful.
