Friday Evening drinking thread

Submitted by sadeto on January 16th, 2015 at 8:15 PM

I haven't started a thread in a long time, what better reason than it's after 8pm and we lack a drinking thread. Let's kick off the home stretch to National Signing Day by raising a glass to Coach Harbaugh and his staff. For myself, I'm exercising my 21st Amendment privilege with Brew Free or Die IPA. You?

Got some DuClaw Dirty Little Freak (coconut / caramel / chocolate brown ale) and some Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero (chocolate stout w/ cinnamon, vanilla, and ancho chili). Both pretty damn good.

not the norm, but picked up a truck load of salmon for dinner and, well, you drink white with fish.   chateau ste. michelle.  it sounds fancy, but its just a $7 bottle of decent vino.

I decided to go with the Blue Moon that has been sitting valiantly on the porch through this cold spell, partially because it is only fitting for a beer which has weathered the storm but also because I didn't have time to stop on the way home and it is all that I have at the moment without leaving the games on the TV right now. You pick your poison, but beer is an excellent poison.

Just went to Local Option in Chicago (highly recommend if you haven't been) and had a Founders Backwoods Bastard and a Hoppin' Frog Barrel Aged Boris. Good stuff!!

Sierra Nevada Hoppy Lager here while my wife catches up on DVRed shows. She's watching The Mentalist. I'm holding the Hopslam in abeyance tonight but might unleash it if she cues up Grey's Anatomy or Downton Abbey.

Johnnie Walker (Blue Label) -- generally I only drink Jameson or Jack, but about a month ago at my football banquet, myself and the two other coordinators, were gifted a .750ml each, by our head coach.

Never had scotch before today. Will be having more.
