Does Meyer leaving like this seem fishy?
Urban says he's leaving because of health concerns, but I'm not so sure...He and Bo are at about the same age where they've had health scares. The difference? Bo made sure he could get back to coaching asap, and urban just gave it up just like that. And at such an odd time? Why announce it before the bowl game? Something smells fishy to me...

If Bo had been making $2 million a year, he would have retired at 45, too.
Stop holding people to other's standards and judging them when they fail to live up.

If I was afraid for my health and thought I could die, I'd probably make such swift and oddly timed decision too

It doesn't seem fishy at all. You don't even know what his health scare is.
Fishy is driving your car into your own tree, without shoes on, and having your wife smash the windows with a golf club. Fishy is not taking time away from work because of health concerns. Until you know how long he will be away from the game, as well as his medical condition, you really can't call it fishy.
Me thinks you have Tiger Syndrome and are hoping to find more celebrity scandals and drama.

I think it had more to do with having a senior Tebow, and the #1 team going into this season that probably postponed Urban getting whatever medical care he needed.

Because Meyer hasn't won shit anywhere or any time without Tebow by his side.

Years in which your team will be .500 at best will make you do funny things. Especially if you are a reported douche bag of high proportions.

I've read that the reports of douchebaggery are indeed very true.

but without all the info, you can't judge. He may have just gotten test results back on Friday. Or maybe another incident that hasn't come to light yet.

No. "Fishy" is when the best basketball player in the world quits in the middle of a gambling investigation to play minor league baseball and the investigation magically disappears.
This looks more like someone being talked into changing his mind or maybe "tabling" his decision until he feels better. That should salvage this recruiting class. Also, this might give him time to get that cyst "cleaned up."

I'm part of the faction of people that doesn't care about the gambling rumors or any of his reported personal infidelities. He is the legend of all legends and will always be that way.

Because he went to the hospital three times in a month? Or: CONSPIRACY!!!

if you consider the giant cyst in his brain that flares up with pain during moments of stress -- there was a big article on it in Sports Illustrated (and likely still on CNNSI.com). As of 3:14 pm Sunday, ESPN reports it is just a 'leave' during 2010 season.
Brian Kelly better not have a fake degree like O'Leary, though.

Urban is also a human just like the rest of us. Lets wait and see what the future brings. Hopefully this will allow us to snatch a recruit or two from Florida's grasp in the coming years.

Speculating on his situation is unfair and absurd. Yes, he is an arrogant jerk. But he's also had well-documented health issues and is a huge workaholic. It seems to me that 2 and 2 make 4, and there is no foul play involved. Rumormongering, which is what the internet is for, is ridiculous.

He's doing a 180 like the slick football coach that he is. I wonder if he forfeits any money by stepping down...

It's not fishy. In a SI article last year, Urban mentioned possibly taking a break from coaching for a few years, and he commented that he hoped Florida would want him back at the end of it.
He's put in a ton of work to get where he is and while it's understandable that people like us don't like him (or Florida), he made a pretty bold decision to spend more time with his family and get things in order.
Maybe it's time to just let the man be. I mean, if Tebow couldn't cure it, it must be bad.

This IS fishy. He must be having an affair... With Tim Tebow.

My money is on anxiety or some other psychological disorder.
