Dee Hart killin' doodz again last night

Submitted by MEZman on

According to the game article (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/highschool/football/os-hs-dp-evan…) Dee rushed for 178 yards on 8 carries and had 3 TD's. Some pretty nice runs on this video:

I love how defenders just seem to fall off of him. Looks like a pretty strong kid especially for a high schooler. Can't wait to see him in maize and blue.

Can you imagine a backfield of Dee and Denard?  Talk about a potent running game.  IMO, this is the one thing that the offense is missing - a home run threat at RB, so that defenses will not be able to key in so much on Denard on the zone read.

I have been trying to, well since he announced, but especially since the alabama game went official yesterday.  2012: D-rob in his 4th year, Fitz in his 3rd year, Hopkins in his 3rd year, V Smith in his 4th year and D-Hart in his 2nd.  That should be fun.

I protest the Sentinel just like I protest the Free Press.  That said, Dee Hart is awesome - both because he's a great footballer and also because he made the Sentinel look stupid.

You're the type to hold grudges aren't you?

Look man, the media today is different than it was 10 years ago.  We live in a world run by the Twitters and Facebooks of the world.  Read Bill Simmons' most recent article on ESPN for a better perspective.

I have nothing against the OS (same could not be said for the freep) - they had what they thought to believe good inside info from the kid and they ran with it.  99% of newspapers would have done the same thing.

Dee Hart sent the text as a joke and thought that it would be amusing if Michigan fans panicked about him leaning toward Bama.  I'm sure that he's laughing when he sees Michigan fans panicking about it.

I agree, the Senitel did nothing wrong with the story and when they have a direct text from Dee Hart himself, why wouldn't they run this story when his annoucement is about to come?

He seems stronger and better built. I only ask because I saw some recruiting guru who said that Noel Devine was one of the top two recruits he has ever seen in high school. If he is even close how is he not a five star?

I don't think Dee has Devine type speed. In that video you see Dee breaking tackles on his long TD runs. If it were Devine the tacklers wouldn't be close enough to make the tackle attempt. Devine has elite speed... Dee has good/very good speed. That being said Dee seems a lot stronger than Devine and more apt to break tackles.

I think elite speed is one of the most important factors that goes into a five star rating especially for RB's, WR's, and DB's. There may be a few that get a 5th star that don't have elite speed but they usually have another elite skill or two (size, strength, etc.).

Uh... unless I'm totally mistaken I remember one Lloyd Carr recruiting Devine when he was in high school. Michigan even got mentioned in a few articles if memory serves. Whether he would have been able to get Devine in or not we'll never know but this comment amused me none the less.

Lloyd did not exactly bat a thousand with getting kids in either.

RR is just having to "adjust" to Michigan's academic standards (see: Kinard, Witty, Dorsey, etc.).

If those kids above can't get in, but Devine could (wasn't he the one with all the Deion Sanders kidnapped me issues?) - the system is FLAWED.

Although Martin won't be around, we very likely will have someone to step in and be nearly as productive. We also will have experience at every position, unlike this year, and that goes a long way towards fielding a competent defense.

For those who are aghast at our current D scheme, WVU is running it quite well. The biggest difference is that their players have experience, while ours do not.

for defensive coordinators. One can only hope that DH has an aversion to being caught from behind.

The only thing that might be more fun than watching would be blocking for them.

I'll really be delirious when we can start predicting game scores with single digits for the opposition.

MSU would have never been able to run their D scheme they did.  It is one thing to say..."Sure Smith and Hopkins, run the ball up the middle for 5-8 yards.  Just as long as Denard does not run for 80.  We're fine..."

Next year with Dee those 5-8 yard run become more frequent and a couple would bust open for HUGE gains.  Defenses will not be as willing to just let the middle be so open....

Just keep putting the pieces together......

Now for the Defense.....
