Is ASU legit threat here? Sounds like it’s 2 team race. Losing out on Christopher to ASU would really sting. Hoping it’s just some smoke to keep the intrigue.

Can Michigan fans please not tweet shade at recruits considering us? Is that too much to ask? Can I settle for asking grown-ass men to not tweet at high schoolers?

If he commits elsewhere, I’m 100% personally blaming Carter Smotherman.

No one is worried about the folks that they follow.  I don't follow any of the idiots and therefore I don't encounter them a lot.  The poster above was talking about M fans on twitter not tweeting at recruits.  Just because I avoid those trolls doesn't keep them from doing damage.

It's not about WolvinLA2 avoiding the idiots, it's about Josh Christopher not having to deal with them.

I still think ASU is a real threat. He visited with Cliff Omoruyi a few weeks back and shortly after that visit Omoruyi became the crystal ball favorite to ASU. He obviously might be coming to Michigan but he sure seems to post a lot about ASU. I'll be glad when April gets here and we ink whoever is actually coming here.

I think maybe a Michigan student was making fun of Christopher for dragging out his recruitment and calling him a diva? Hard to tell because his tweet lacks any sense of grammar.

Then Christopher replies he will announce tomorrow. Then Isiah Todd randomly tweets hes excited.

Thats what I’m able to decipher from the tweets.

I think people in this thread are freaking out about ASU a little too much. His brother plays there. He very likely has taken multiple unofficial visits there just to see and support his brother. Similar to the Myles Hinton situation, except flipped in our favor. I think it says a lot that he’s taken so many unofficials there recently and the crystal ball activity has still stayed constant in our favor

I think the anxiety comes from the fact that only Zeb is signed. If Todd and the rest were signed already and Todd never dabbled with overseas then I think Cristopher would be icing on the cake right now. With our two highest prospects still up in the air on a top 3 class, it makes people a little nervous. Weve been left as a bridesmaid a lot with top talent.

It’s understandable why people are freaking out though. How many times has Michigan (both in football and in basketball) been left standing at the altar for a game-changing top level recruit? Too many to count. Najee Harris, Zach Harrison, Da’Shawn Hand, Jaylen Brown, Tyus Battle, and those are just the ones that immediately come to mind.

Michigan should probably still be the favorite to land Christopher, but who knows? Maybe he decides he really wants to play with his brother. And then with Todd also still technically considering overseas play, it really throws a lot of things up into the air with the recruiting class. Can you imagine how disastrous it would be to ultimately lose both of these guys?

I think given Michigan’s position of experiencing heartbreak more often than happiness, that’s why you see people reacting the way they do.

Disastrous may have been too strong a word, but I do think missing out on one or both of them would stunt the program's potential growth for at least a year. Top-level guys want to go where other top-level guys are playing. It sends a message to other blue-chippers who are otherwise only thinking about Duke and Kentucky that "hey, maybe I should be considering Michigan, too."

If everyone sans Todd and Christopher came next year, Michigan would be fine. But both of them showing up makes this team that much better. Those two are the kind of guys you can build your whole team around, and they have the kind of talent that if coached properly (and signs so far show Juwan has the ability to do that), can take your team right back to the Final Four. They can win you the kind of games you're used to seeing Michigan lose.

So yes....I should've picked a better word than disastrous. But neither of them showing up drastically lowers the ceiling this team has next year.

I would love for him to commit to Michigan today, but I get the feeling what he meant by his tweet was that he is going to put out what day he's announcing.

A few weeks ago he said he would be putting out the date of his announcement soon.
