CFB Playoff Selection Show [open thread] (Michigan finished #14) / Sunday Snowflakes Thread

Submitted by Mr. Yost on

Shouldn't be any surprises...but I've always thought we should start an "Sunday CFB Thoughts open thread" or another "Sunday Snowflakes Thread" just to allow folks to continue to coversations from the night before.

The snowflakes threads take place right after the Michigan game and they're not relevant the next day. However people still have plenty of hot takes and plenty of things they want to DISCUSS the next day.

It's like the Monday Morning Quarterback for NFL discussion.

Anyway...

Makes a guest appearence. Should be interesting to see what first piece of disrespekt he believes his opponents give him.

I don't like sports enough to watch any games if Michigan isn't playing, but I hope that Alabama/Oklahoma game happens. Seems like it could be a good one. Saban vs Stoops seems like an interesting matchup.

Probably 1 Clemson v 4 OU and 2 Bama v 3 MSU right?

Looking at this field I'm terrified that MSU might actually pull this off. If MSU manages to beat Bama, I'll be pushing the panic button

They actually match up better with Bama. They can stop the run and I don't know if Coker has the arm talent to exploit their true weakness the defensive backfield. If you want to see them get pounded, then you should want them to play Clemson or Oklahoma.

Bama is a way better match up for MSU than Clemson. I still think Bama will win, but I think Clemson would embarrass Spartys secondary.

If they are truly taking teams based on performance at the time of the ranking, they absolutely should be taking Stanford over MSU, regardless of one loss versus two. They keep saying it's about who is the best team RIGHT NOW, so we'll see how honest they are about that.

Who's #6? Iowa or OSU?

I can see that going either way.

Yesterday I argued with 4 people about Stanford being over OSU no matter what and these fools wanted to tell me because OSU was higher last week they'd be higher this week.

I can't wait to see Stanford at #5, because that was a frustrating debate that I shouldn't have engaged in.

I'll say...

  1. Clemson
  2. Alabama
  3. MSU
  4. Oklahoma
  5. Stanford
  6. Iowa/OSU
  7. OSU/Iowa
  8. ND
  9. FSU
  10. Who cares...
