Not hail, this is sleet and freezing rain.

Hail is caused by updrafts during thunderstorms/tornados.

Sleet is precipitation falling through a cold air layer and freezing into an ice pellet before hitting the ground.

Freezing rain is rain that hits the cold ground and then freezes.

Yeah, I left early this morning to beat the weather on my way up north to my bad ass cabin at Boyne Mountain to do some sweet ass skiing...

Well, as I just told a buddy, we're getting pounded with a foot tonight in Charlevoix County. And yes, it sounds as awkward here as it did when I texted it to another grown man a few minutes ago... :-D

thinking i was serious.

i am reminded of a similar storm that hit in 1982 or 83 and we were at stivers, which is a somewhat famous truck stop ~15 miles west of ann arbor.   we drove one of the guys' 4 door chevy chevette stuffed full of some of us larger than average students and with total disregard for those seatbelt thingies.  stick shift, too.   at stivers you could get a whole table of drinks for like $5 or $6.  i was the only one remotely sober enough to drive back to ann arbor in a blizzard after that one. i can still remember the gin and tonics.

This is gonna be a fun one. Pitt returns opening kickoff for a TD and Navy goes right down the field and slices through Pitt to tie it at 7-7.

Will be interesting to see how Narduzzi and his Pitt defense attacks the Navy offense.  Normally I'm not a fan of the triple option offense but have seen Navy play a few times this year and I've become a fan of watching them

Man, I get that Keenan is exciting to watch, but how come Kenneth Dixon isn't getting more love? They mentioned that Dixon set the record in his bowl game, and that Reynolds is trying to set the record again today.

Isn't it way more impressive for a tailback to get the TD record (rushing/receiving td's) vs a QB (rushing/receiving/passing td's)

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. How was this not even a storyline on ESPN leading up to this game?

Pretty sure Reynolds' passing TDs don't count. He had 85 rushing TDs in his career coming into the game, while Dixon has 72 rushing and 15 receiving, for 87 total. If you counted passing TDs, it'd be a runaway with the air raid QBs who had multiple 40-50 TD seasons.

Reporting live from Ford Field. Traditionally rough weather for this game. Still I love coming down here. Elwood's is packed. Fire up Chips.

I have no where to be today because I definitely don't feel like driving today. Havent had to drive in snow, hail, sleet or whatever so far this winter/late fall. Trying to keep it that way for as long as possible.

Couldn't agree more. Was really tempted to head downtown for the game this evening, but I'd rather skip tonight and head down there for the GLI instead.
