Be confident

Submitted by Alumnus93 on

Just felt I had to share this with you all... It really hit home was watching the film Patriots Day, and at the end, in the credits... that kidnapped Asian exchange student, says "Be confident, good always defeats bad".   I couldn't help but think of this past decade when we've lost consistently to the state schools PSU, OSU,MSU, all which have had some horrific scandals.  Have been sick after we'd lose to these clowns.... and would be worries leading up to the games... I do care too much, yes...  nonetheless, I'm not gonna worry anymore...that phrase rings true....  Be confident, good always defeats bad....  GO BLUE

My eight year old wrote a Haiku for class tomorrow:

Go Blue!  Michigan!

Football season starts today!

Go Maize And Blue! Yay!

seems more on topic than the Patriot.

And in that spirit....

I took an enormous dump at work today and in the bowl sat the perfect likeness of a Christmas fruitcake with undigested corn and green and red pepper chunks cheerfully  sprinkled thoughout.  It raised my spirits to no end.  And as a result, I found the phrase “the Christmas spirit” rang true to me and therefore, board, no matter the time of year it’s never too late to send a little good cheer and generosity to others around you - particularly as it pertains to college football.

Is it up to this blog to determine what, or who, is "good" or "bad"??

So many sanctimonious superheroes on MgoBlog, so little time.

I am also an Alumnus from 93, and I don't remember this guy at all, I'm not even sure he went to UM, but maybe he did, because actually there were some doofuses around, especially one's who didn't read Ron's guide, which was popular at the time.

"good always defeats bad."

Even a not-very-precocious 12-year old possessing only a cursory acquaintance with the real world knows this is ridiculous, delusional codswallop.

It is a silly OP, but no sillier than all the fans who somehow believe that what they think has an influence on how their favorite team plays. This is such an "OH MY" of ignorance and delusion. Imagination is a most wonderful thing...except when it isn't.

I like the references, here, to "perspective". And this is what I truly like about Jim Harbaugh. His "perspective" regarding the role of interscholastic athletics is so good that I believe it "costs" his team wins...and this is where the pathological, partisan fans get lost. I sometimes wish he were a better on-the-field, win-loss coach but damn does he have the rest of it nailed. If Coach Harbaugh is able to win an NC at Michigan it will be the ultimate, consummate, total National Championship.

His Dudeness

I knew this kid once who lived in New York with his parents and was sick of it so he decided to run away. He went to the Catskill Mountains to live in the wilderness. This kid actually made friends with woodland creatures out there. One was a falcon and one was a weasel I think. Well later there was this big snowstorm and the kid had to live in a hollowed out tree trunk to survive. It was real crazy.
