Fullback?

Also, a guy like that is exactly why I avoided the A league in intramural basketball. Football guys who were good at bball in high school would be done with football, play IM hoops, and dunk all over poor saps like me. Better to play in the B league and feel better about myself.

Yes! The West Quad dorm team was all football players who could dunk. Even out B team had some dunking football players. I played whatever level there was no one who could dunk. Our flag football team had a couple of ex-players on it - they did not have kind words for Bo.

The closest I ever came to catching a nerd-massacre-style beatdown at the hands of football players came when I was playing IM ball and a guy on my team made the extremely ill-advised decision to undercut a not-to-be-named wide receiver as he went up for a transition dunk in the closing minutes of our game. There are better and worse ways to handle getting dunked all over by football players in the A league, it turns out.

One summer about 35 years ago, I was at the CCRB just shooting around by myself. Things were much slower in the summer. 4 guys needed one more kid to make a team and asked if I would join them. They were better than me. A LOT BETTER. Tim Mccormick was there. Also a kid from Ann Arbor home from Syracuse for the summer, Erich Santifer. I don't remember or know the other two, but they were of the same caliber. Even though I was dead weight on the team, they didn't care, and kept on winning and winning and winning. And after a while, I was plumb beat. But they kept on passing me the ball and telling me to shoot. Smh. On another occasion playing pickup ball there, I was matched up on Glen Rice. (Being that I was 6'4", I was the only one remotely big enough to guard him.) The biggest concern I had wasn't being humiliated. It was the possibility of somehow causing a freak injury. I didn't mind "guarding" him (what a joke.) But I was careful not to do anything that could hurt him. Good memories, humiliation nonetheless.

I like his size, his build and his athleticism a lot. I wonder about his speed. If he is straight-line fast enough I would love to see this kind of athlete playing at strong safety along-side Daxton.

LB/FB makes sense, though I think his best position will end up as FB. We have good LBs on the roster, and I don't think Pesek-Hickson has the speed to match up with his peers. He also has a huge learning curve at the LB spot, but I think time spent as a LB could help him become a great FB. He would know better how to diagnose and pick up blocks, and he already shows good hands out of the backfield to be a threat in that part of his game.

Hard to say where he ends up but hopefully he finds a role. He looks like he is already a big kid that could put on more weight. Kids that are 6’3 210 at 18 years old sometimes end up at 6’3 245. That’s why I’m thinking he will definitely not be a safety. Maybe a Khalid Hill type flex FB/TE. I’m leaning more towards TE due to the leaping ability. LB if he plays D. We will have to see if this is another steal like Ronnie Bell.

Probably a LB. We only brought in one last year and the guys they took this year (Thomas, Velazquez, Hickson) are all projects. I think Solomon is destined for Viper. Going to need a big haul in 2020.

This kid looks like a great find. Great athleticism and speed. That vert as well. We sure we don't want him as a WR or TE? LB seems like a waste but what do I know? I also wanted Jabrill as a RB so obviously I'm no genius. (Although I maintain he'd been a Reggie Bush level athlete at the postition...;))

I have a longtime argument with my buddies that Basketball players transition the best to every other sport. This kid is a prime example. A thicc basketball player transitioning to Football?! Yes please.
