ACE: Michigan offers '13 OL Logan Tuley-Tillman

Submitted by Ace on

Just got a text from 2013 Peoria (IL) Manual OL Logan Tuley-Tillman, who said that he's just been offered a full scholarship from Michigan. Tuley-Tillman is a 6'7", 280-pound junior who project as a tackle at the next level, and he had early offers from Mizzou, Illinois, and Indiana. When I talked to him a couple weeks ago, here's what he had to say about potentially being offered:

ACE: How would a Michigan offer affect your recruitment?

LOGAN: I think that would shake up the whole landscape, and I'm pretty sure they would skyrocket to number one, just from what I've seen and the relationship I have with Coach Funk.

He's obviously in class now, but I'll see if I can talk to him further in the very near future. It sounds like Michigan is in great position with him.

I don't know much about him other than what's popped up in the last 24 hours or so, but I'm in full support of Michigan taking a productive four-star athlete—especially a 6'2, 210-pound productive four-star athlete—and bringing him in as a running back if they can land him.

I like it.  I think it is there for the taking.  Illinois and NW or rather mediocre and we should beat them out for every recruit.  The problem is ND.  There are so many ND fans from Illinois and it is rather annoying.  I am from Chicago and there are random ND fans all over the place.  Whatever, lets make some inroads!

ND is huge in Peoria, but at least on the basketball side, Manual is a huge U of Illinios pipeline.  In the late nineties, there were 3 Peoria Manual guys starting on the Illinois basketball team - Illinois answer to the Flintstones.  The former coach of Manual (McClain) is an assistant at U of I.

This early in the process—with so many players still to be evaluated on their junior film—I'd take the rankings (or lack of) with an extra-large grain of salt. At this point a better measure of a player is probably their offer/interest lists, and Logan's already got four early offers from Midwest schools and interest from Boise State, Notre Dame, and Tennessee, among others. Given the fact that he was just getting his film out over the last couple weeks, that's pretty solid.

showed very good strength/drive at point of attack and reasonably good technique for a HS junior, but did not reveal much in terms of how his footwork is in open space and pass-pro.  Do not recall much of him in the second level or on pulls, nor do I recall any zone blocking.  Most of what I recall was downblocking on an much smaller end.

If I recall his film, particularly on pass plays - dude didnt have to move much, the fleas on the other team just couldnt get around him, so it was really hard to evaluate.  The coaches on the board could probably gleen alot more than I could, but just not much on there to be able get a great picture.  What he did on film was very good, but just not sure you can see enough skill set to really get an idea.  Think his combine work will be really relvealing.

He is an AAU level basketball player - he played with Amarah Darboh, so expect that his agility is pretty good.  Even bigs at AAU level of basketball typically have pretty good footwork and agility.  Dont know if he still plays hoops, but Manual is top-level basketball program.

Sounds like we could have our 3rd commit in the 2013 class pretty soon. Ace has he mentioned when a decision could be made? I know it is super early but he seems like he could be a candidate for an early decision.

Ace, I was just wondering if you know anything new with Michael Hutchings. He is one of the players i Like the most in the 2013 class and I remember hearing there was heavy mutual interest. Also, do you have any idea if Michigan will offer Jalin Marshall- he is expected to be a heavy OSU lean but i haven't heard if he likes or dislikes the hiring of Urban Meyer.
