Finally: Tim Tebow OMG SHIRTLESS

Submitted by Brian on January 26th, 2010 at 2:07 PM

Around here, the above all-caps exclamation has turned into a sarcastic shorthand for a super blue-chip recruit. Lesser folk are said to be partially shirtless. It's a meme. And it all started in 2005 when Michigan was recruiting Tim Tebow and someone found the site because MGoBlog was the #1 hit for "Tim Tebow shirtless."

At the time Google couldn't provide anything racier than a shot of Tebow in his basketball uniform, but thanks to the Senior Bowl and a crafty, hits-mad editor at al.com, your long wait is ended, anonymous and creepy drive by from about four years ago.

Tim Tebow. OMG. Shirtless.

Was it worth it? Absolutely.

[Warning: Mount Cody also shirtless in that link. Scarring.]

Does this mean that MGoBlog is no longer the #1 hit for "Tim Tebow shirtless"?

Ummm, why didn't I think before googling that myself? I'm pretty sure I'm on a list somewhere now. Ok, I'm pretty sure I'm higher on the list than I was a few minutes ago.

Much like Kramer when he was working for Calvin Klein Tim needs some Pectoral work to match his arms and shoulders. He looks a little out of proportion with those big meat hook arms and no chest.

Probably sarcasm, but dude does bench like 400 pounds. If that doesn't do it for his pecs than I don't know what would. Maybe he needs to say trim so he doesn't sink in the water he's walking on.

Thanks for the warning about the link and the shirtless pic of Cody. Too bad I was stupid and had to look and almost lost my lunch. What's his nicname, Mount Cody? How about Mud-slide or Flabalanche.

I don't want to see that at the top of the page every time I go to mgoblog today.

Is there any way to have this post minimized to only the headline?
That way anyone who actually wants to see that can just click a link to it?

Its like my drive to type mgoblog into my address bar has been neutered...

I'm paraphrasing the book Friday Night Lights here, but sometimes guys can just be good college players and not be good pros. There is nothing wrong with that, but the sooner people stop expecting Tebow to be a starting QB in the pros the better. Trot him out in short-yardage, line him up as H-Back, run some Heavy Wildcat variant, whatever, that works for him. But expecting a guy to suddenly perform like a pocket passer when, in his 4 years of college ball, he hasn't shown even an inkling of ability to be such a player, is crazy. I could see him being a good pro in a Miami Dolphin-type offense where he can run a little of the option, a little Wildcat, some short slants, etc. But he is a gimmick player at this point in the pros, and while that will never tarnish how good he was in college, trying to fit his square game into a round role is crazy.

He'll never have an embarrassing product like Cody or Andre Smith (last year)*

*yes, I know these are 2 good players that we'd be lucky to have had, but think how much better they'd be with a proper S&C coach

If you become a better person by just being in a room with Tim Tebow for 15 minutes, imagine how holy the guy who is touching his shoulder must be now.

Following this train of thought, giving Tim Tebow a handy is probably a one way ticket straight through the pearly gates.

Something seems a little off about a bunch of young, largely in-shape men walking around on stage with their shirts off for a group of older men with laptops and video cameras.

Feels a bit like...HEAVEN!
