Terry Richardson Offered by Ohio State Today.
Scout is reporting that Terry Richardson received an offer from OSU. TomVH, what are your thoughts? Is this the dagger in the coffin?
Edit: You guys can neg me, but i really don't care.

"Is this the dagger in the coffin?"
February 27th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
Yeah I'm not sure what that comment was about. He may have expressed interest previously but I don't see why OSU offering him would somehow mean we're out of the running.

"Is this the dagger in the coffin?"
I dont get the analogy......isn't it nail in the coffin? I dont see how a dagger could secure a coffin.
February 27th, 2011 at 9:33 PM ^
Dagger in the coffin, as in what killed the person(or school). I'm sorry if it was confusing to you.
February 27th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
I think the analogy was clear. Why it was used, not so much.

Your signature is redundant.
February 28th, 2011 at 5:06 PM ^
Your signature isn't accurate anymore. Didn't you get out of Bolivian incarceration 2+ months ago?
February 28th, 2011 at 5:29 PM ^
You are technically correct. I still feel like I'm in Bolivia because the board has not returned to pre=maleware status.
February 28th, 2011 at 6:32 PM ^
I'm hoping maleware status was a typo for malware and not Male Wear. Not quite sure what I'd think of the site if it went to a Male Wear Status. To be honest, I'm not even sure what that might mean, I just have a feeling I don't want to be a part of it...

What about Female Ware?
February 28th, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
It depends on what female wares we are talking about. Some of them are excellent to have around. Others...not so much.

People are often buried with the instrument used to kill them. It's kind of a nice touch. Tradition and all that.
February 28th, 2011 at 6:05 PM ^
I think its Nail in the coffin or .. Dagger in the heart

Stupid metaphors
February 28th, 2011 at 8:44 AM ^
Well you know what they say. People in glass houses sink ships, and a penny saved is worth two in the bush.
February 28th, 2011 at 11:26 AM ^
I guess I can't keep my metaphors straight.

At least the OP has all of his ducks on the pond!
February 28th, 2011 at 2:24 PM ^
he doesn't have an ace up his hole like my brother-in-law....That has to hurt. I prefer to keep mine up my sleeve, even if there is a greater chance of getting caught.
February 28th, 2011 at 4:44 PM ^
You my friend just won the internet today.
February 27th, 2011 at 9:06 PM ^
I think we've got a heck of a recruiting staff now, and if we can reel off a really good season this fall... no telling what could come.
Also, I still hold out hope that someday soon OSU will still get hit with the HAMMER for their fairly blatant player luxuries (Anyone want to borrow a dealer car?). That would scare a lot of recruits off.
February 27th, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
Blaze.....normally i agree with you (especially when it comes to beer) but i'm afraid you're off base on the OSU cheating allegation. Dealers EVERYWHERE write loans to kids who they think will be cashing in on a big paycheck soon. They do it at the maximum interest rate allowable by law (rumor has it that Lebron had a 28% rate on his infamous Hummer purchase) so they can basically charge double what the car is worth by the time the loan matures or is paid off.
It's not unlike places that give loans against future lottery winnings or a deferred inheritance monies. Football and basketball players have driven sweet rides for years under this deal. When i was in school back in the late 70's several of our players had new cars that they could never afford as a student but as a future pro would have no problem paying for.
Tatoogate notwithstanding.....I don't think the end of OSU's run of football dominance is going to come via the NCAA rules committee. We're going to have to do it ourselves.
February 27th, 2011 at 11:47 PM ^
When I was visiting a friend in Columbus back in 2001 the entire B-ball team had matching explorers. I doubt all of them were destined to cash big paychecks. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm just saying some individuals might over look some missed payments as long as the kid is playing well. Sometimes it takes a rollover accident to expose these types of things. (thanks Tractor Traylor.)

ND offered he and Ross on friday when they visited. PSU offered yesterday, OSU today, can't be late to the party.

but always a +1 comment with me.

I see you're still upvoting your own posts. You know they don't count anymore, right?
February 27th, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
I didn't hink voting up on yourself ever counted. It's just a force of habbit.
February 27th, 2011 at 11:41 PM ^
I think the site stopped counting self-up-votes during the 2009 season. Not that it really matters, of course.
February 27th, 2011 at 11:49 PM ^
Yeah, that's what I thought. They've never counted when I do them, but it's just fun to click the green arrow.
February 27th, 2011 at 11:55 PM ^
It works on the same principle as computer Solitare. Getting to click on and reveal a newly exposed card from the stacks is always a good feeling.

THANK YOU! Freaking Vista does it for you! That was the best part of the damn game!
February 28th, 2011 at 12:24 AM ^
That damn paperclip. Just the worst kind of curved, metal office supply.

clarkston?

Yes and Yes. Who is this?
February 28th, 2011 at 12:19 PM ^
Yeah yeah, Oscar Meyer even.

Michigan lock...........
February 27th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
A bit early in the recruiting cycle for the "dagger in the coffin" routine. Also, WTF does that mean, anyway...

February 27th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
....of the new staff to keep Michigan talent in state and with Michigan.
February 27th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
I'll say it again:
Richardson is the best midget corner to come out of Cass Tech (in recent years, anyway). He's better than Cissoko, better than Mathis, better than Hollowell.
I hope Michigan can get him.
February 27th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
Is his offer list better already as well? Certainly for Hollowell but what about Cissoko and Mathis?
February 27th, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
It's already better than Mathis' offer list.
Cissoko's offer list is a little murkier, because he committed so early in the process. Rivals has him with offers from LSU, Tennessee, Illinois, Georgia, and Penn State. So he might have been able to earn offers from more top schools, but who knows?
February 27th, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
thanks, as usual
February 27th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
My God not every recruit we go after has OSU as their dream school. I can understand being pessimistic about recruits that are from Ohio, but if we're going to assume we're doomed when Cass Tech kids get an OSU offer then we'd might as well join the MAC.
February 27th, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
Well, we beat out Ohio State for exactly zero recruits in this past recruiting class and only three in 2010, IIRC. It's a somewhat daunting situation.
For comparison's sake, a quick scan through the past two Ohio State recruiting classes shows that OSU grabbed about 16 kids who had Michigan offers.
It's not the "dagger in the coffin" but recent history suggests it might be a problem.
February 27th, 2011 at 10:27 PM ^
"It's not the "dagger in the coffin" but recent history suggests it might be a problem"
Exactly my point, this was more of a question to the recruiting members.
Not the general "lynch mob mentality" that seems to think their group opinion should be shoved down everyones throat.
